Plot Summary

During the events of the Battle of Starkiller Base, Captain Phasma starts recording the final moments of Starkiller Base after her escape from the garbage compactor on Level Six. To conceal her forced participation in the superweapon's demise, Phasma heads toward the nearest computer terminal, feigning a need to investigate how the First Order's shield defenses were breached. Amidst the ongoing starfighter combat above, Phasma makes her way through the explosions and chaos.

Arriving at the computer she was forced to use in order to lower the deflector shields, Phasma erases all data implicating her in the shield's deactivation under pressure. While verifying that no one else has accessed the computer systems, Phasma learns that Lieutenant Sol Rivas had viewed the defense shield files. Consequently, Phasma shifts the blame for lowering Starkiller Base's shields onto Rivas to hide her own involvement in the station's downfall, and then begins her pursuit. She spots Rivas on Level Two of the South Platform and attempts to shoot him, but he manages to evade her.

As Starkiller Base crumbles around her due to the damaged fuel cells, Captain Phasma employs a grappling gun to fashion a makeshift zip line, allowing her to reach the surface. There, she comes across several stormtroopers, whose leader, FN-1728, informs her that General Hux is being evacuated. Phasma instructs FN-1728 to remain at his assigned position unless given contrary orders.

Phasma journeys through the snowy landscape and wreckage in pursuit of Rivas, who is making his way towards an auxiliary hangar. At 15:25 hours, Phasma observes Kylo Ren engaged in a duel with an unidentified opponent, who is revealed to be Rey. As the planet breaks apart, Phasma barely avoids falling into a [magma](/article/magma]-filled chasm below. Phasma continues her chase of Rivas, firing shots at him but missing due to a newly formed chasm in front of her. Phasma jumps across the chasm and reaches the auxiliary hangar, only to find that Rivas has escaped aboard a TIE/fo space superiority fighter.

Inside the hangar, Phasma encounters First Order TIE Fighter Pilot TN-3465 and recruits her to help track down Rivas using the remaining TIE/sf fighter. They are joined by the BB unit BB-K8, who was in the process of updating data on TN-3465's fighter. After escaping the planet's destruction, Phasma informs TN-3465 about their mission to locate Rivas, falsely accusing him of causing Starkiller Base's destruction. Phasma then concludes her audio log.
