Carver Drow was a Jedi Master of the human species who lived during the High Republic Era. Celesta Kami, a Jedi Padawan, was his apprentice, and he provided her training on the planet of Batuu.
At some point within the timeline of the High Republic Era, Kai Brightstar, Lys Solay, and Nubs, who were Jedi younglings, journeyed to the Jedi temple located on the planet Batuu. There, they received instruction from Master Drow alongside his Padawan, Celesta Kami. While they were on Batuu, Drow dispatched the other Jedi to Black Spire Outpost to acquire the necessary tools for a project he was undertaking. This project was centered around the natural rock spires present on the planet. At the Black Spire Outpost Market, they encountered Ozon Nimbee, who was attempting to persuade the inhabitants of Black Spire to destroy the spires in order to construct a futuristic spaceport. After revealing his plans to the locals, Nimbee deployed buzz droids with the intent of cutting down the spires. Drow appeared to assist in the destruction of the buzz droids and to expel Nimbee from the planet.
During the time the younglings spent on Batuu, Drow gave a demonstration of a novel lightsaber technique that he had been developing. Kai found it difficult to execute the technique and became disheartened. Sensing the youngling's feelings of frustration, Drow escorted him to a cave situated outside of Black Spire Outpost. Inside this cave, Kai experienced Force visions of various individuals, including Bell Zettifar, Ember, Djovi Resmia, Taborr Val Dorn, and Master Yoda. Upon exiting the cave, Kai gained an understanding that Jedi are not expected to be flawless. He discovered Drow outside, meditating on a rock as he waited.
