Chubbray

Chubbray, a male Ewok from the Bright Tree tribe, made his home in Bright Tree Village situated on the moon of Endor. In 4 ABY, he participated in a scouting mission, led by the Ewok Teebo, that resulted in the capture of a band of rebels. These rebels were then brought to the village, where they ultimately found acceptance among the tribe.

The Ewoks then decided to assist the rebels in their fight against the Galactic Empire. Chubbray joined the Ewoks in an assault on Imperial forces positioned outside a bunker nearby. During the conflict, he was knocked down by fire from an All Terrain Scout Transport, but survived. He subsequently became part of a catapult team, launching rocks at the Imperial walkers. Ultimately, the rebels and Ewoks succeeded in destroying the bunker, securing a victory over the Empire.

Biography

Trapping rebels

Chubbray, a male Ewok, belonged to the Bright Tree tribe. This Ewok tribe resided in Bright Tree Village, a treetop settlement located on the forest moon Endor during the Galactic Civil War, a conflict between the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic. In 4 ABY, he joined Teebo, a hunter, and his scouting party. They ventured into the forest and set a trap using a verkle corpse as bait, concealing themselves nearby. As they waited, the Wookiee Chewbacca, a rebel involved in the fight against the Galactic Empire, approached the bait, followed by his allies Han Solo, Luke Skywalker, C-3PO, and R2-D2. Ignoring his allies' warnings, Chewbacca attempted to take the meat, triggering a large net that ensnared them, suspending the captured rebels in the air. After R2-D2 freed them, causing them to fall back to the forest floor, Chubbray and the other Ewoks emerged from the ferns with weapons drawn.

The Ewoks relieved Chewbacca of his weapons and approached Solo as he drew his blaster, but were taken aback when C-3PO stood up. Mistaking the droid's golden plating for that of a deity known as the "Golden One," Chubbray and the others began chanting and bowing in reverence. When C-3PO declined to exploit this misunderstanding, Solo moved to grab him, causing the Ewoks to cease their chanting and raise their weapons at Solo once more. Solo apologized, but he and the other rebels, with the exception of C-3PO, were bound and carried back to the village. At the village, the rebels persuaded the Ewoks to release them and were ultimately accepted as members of the tribe. Following this, the Ewoks agreed to assist them in fighting the Empire and destroying the nearby Imperial Endor shield generator bunker.

Catapult crew

The Ewoks then marched with the rebels toward the bunker. While the rebels successfully infiltrated the structure, Chubbray and the other Ewoks remained in the nearby forest. However, the rebels were caught in another trap and were soon forced to surrender outside the bunker's back entrance, surrounded by Imperial forces. After C-3PO and R2-D2 lured some of the Imperial stormtroopers into the trees, the Ewoks ambushed the Imperial forces from all sides, and with the captive rebels also attacking, the situation quickly descended into a chaotic battle. During the fighting, Chubbray and another Ewok were knocked to the ground by blaster fire from an Imperial All Terrain Scout Transport, but he survived and fled through the undergrowth from advancing stormtroopers.

After escaping from another walker, Chubbray joined a crew operating a catapult. He helped pull the rope to activate the weapon and launch a rock at one of the All Terrain Scout Transports, stumbling back into the ferns behind him as it launched. The walker opened fire on the catapults, causing many of the crews to flee. Chubbray and several other Ewoks then returned to the bunker's rear entrance, where they ambushed a trio of stormtroopers from behind and beat them to the ground. As All Terrain Scout Transports continued to destroy the Ewok's catapults, Chubbray fled away from one of the wrecked projectile launchers. The battle's tide turned when Chewbacca and two Ewoks managed to capture a walker and used it against the other vehicles, leading to the rebels' successful destruction of the bunker. This allowed an Alliance Fleet to destroy the Empire's Death Star II battle station above Endor and defeat the Imperial forces, after which the Ewoks and rebels celebrated their victory together into the night.
