Clausito

Clausito served the Galactic Republic as a Wookiee warrior during the tumultuous period of the Clone Wars. Prior to the significant battle that occurred in 19 BBY on the Wookiee homeworld of Kashyyyk, Clausito, a leader within the militia of Kachirho, the capital city, engaged in consultations with Jedi Master Luminara Unduli for several months. Recognizing the species' esteemed warrior traditions, the Jedi undertook measures to bolster the capital's defenses and repair damages previously inflicted by the forces of the Separatist Alliance.

Behind the scenes

Clausito in the unfinished story reels

George Lucas, the creator of Star Wars, gave Clausito his name, and the character was conceived for a unfinished arc of the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Matt Michnovetz penned this arc, which was to take place on Kashyyyk. A segment of the arc's preliminary story reels was presented at Celebration Anaheim in 2015, showcasing Clausito. Dave Filoni, the series' supervising director, identified Clausito after the clip was shown. Subsequently, the character received a mention in the 2021 reference book Star Wars: Battles that Changed the Galaxy, marking the character's first appearance in canonical material and confirming the correct spelling of his name.

Within the incomplete The Clone Wars storyline, Clausito was depicted as a male Wookiee major distinguished by his gray eyes and black fur, styled into four braids forming his beard. He also sported claw-like weapons affixed to his arms. The footage displayed at Celebration Anaheim featured Clausito, alongside other Wookiee soldiers and the Republic's Clone Force 99, navigating the forests of Kashyyyk when they were ambushed by netcasters. Despite the sudden attack, the Wookiees and clones successfully eliminated the creatures. During the encounter with the netcasters, Clausito was seen wearing armor and a belt, and wielding a bowcaster.
