Conclave of the Raining Leaves Clan and the Broken Columns Clan

This significant gathering occurred on Dathomir in 43.5 ABY. It involved the entirely-female Raining Leaves Clan and the exclusively-male Broken Columns Clan. The purpose of this conclave was to explore the potential union of their leaders—Tasander Dest of the Broken Columns and Kaminne Sihn of the Raining Leaves—through marriage, with the aim of creating a single, unified Clan.

In a parallel development, Vestara Khai, a Sith apprentice, sought refuge on Dathomir. She was fleeing after the destruction of her strike team during an attack on Luke Skywalker at Sinkhole Station. Eventually, she found protection with the Raining Leaves Clan, just before Skywalker and his son, Ben, arrived on the planet. Sihn attempted to prevent the Skywalkers from traversing the rainforest as they approached the Clan's territory. Ultimately, she orchestrated an ambush against them, assisted by other Witches. Nevertheless, the Skywalkers, aided by Han and Leia Solo and the Solos' guides, triumphed. Recognizing Luke Skywalker's identity, Sihn permitted the Skywalkers, the Solos, and their guides to accompany them to the conclave.

Upon their arrival, the Skywalkers discovered Vestara Khai among the Raining Leaves Clan. Despite the Jedi's confrontation, the Clan defended Khai, asserting that they had adopted her. Consequently, the conclave proceeded with the Skywalkers present, determined to capture Khai. Meanwhile, Khai contacted the planet's Nightsisters through Halliava Vurse, a Nightsister acting undercover within the Raining Leaves Clan. Khai arranged an agreement to exchange information with her Sith Tribe.

The Nightsisters, vehemently opposed to the Clan merger, launched several assaults during the Conclave. As a result, the Clans relocated the Conclave to a new, neutral location, called the Jedi Hill Camp. There, the two Clans formally united, forming the Bright Sun Clan, and the hill was subsequently renamed Bright Sun Hill. However, that same night, the Nightsisters launched an attack on the hill. Despite suffering casualties of at least 20 Clan members, the Bright Sun Clan, with assistance from Khai and the Skywalkers, successfully repelled the Nightsisters.

Shortly thereafter, reinforcements from Khai's Sith Tribe appeared, betraying and captured the Nightsisters with whom Khai had promised to trade Force techniques. The Skywalkers intervened, engaging the Sith in a duel, defeating them, capturing Khai, and exposing the treachery of both Khai and Vurse. The Bright Sun Clan then disavowed any responsibility for Khai's actions as a member, finally allowing the Jedi to take her into custody.
