Dauntless (Imperial-class)
The Dauntless, a Galactic Empire warship, was an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer in service to them. Under the command of Moff Raythe, it carried vital experimental satellites for Operation: Cinder following the Battle of Endor. Consequently, the Dauntless took part in the attack on Fondor while stationed at an Imperial dockyard, where the Rebel Alliance tried to seize the vessel after it sustained fire from ion cannons.
Behind the scenes
Star Wars Battlefront II, a canon video game developed collaboratively by DICE, Motive Studios, and Criterion Games, and released by Electronic Arts on November 17, 2017, marks the initial appearance of the Dauntless. Its name is shared with the Imperial I-class Star Destroyer Dauntless featured in the 2016 live-action movie Rogue One: A Star Wars Story. In Star Wars: Timelines, the Dauntless is represented by an image that was also used to depict an Imperial II-class Star Destroyer in the "Starships of the Empire and the Rebellion" edition of De Agostini's Star Wars Encyclopedia.
