Delva Racine

Delva Racine functioned as a high-fashion designer of human origin during the time of the Republic Era. In the year 19 BBY, while on the planet of Coruscant, they were ascending the steps of the Galaxies Opera House alongside another human individual who was also a patron. This occurred during a showing of Squid Lake. At that moment, Anakin Skywalker, a Jedi Knight, rushed past them and entered the opera house in order to meet with Sheev Palpatine, who held the position of Supreme Chancellor.

During the Imperial Era, Leia Organa, a Princess hailing from the planet Alderaan, possessed a Delva Racine original hanging sleeve dress which was a component of her wardrobe used for diplomatic purposes. She chose to wear this dress at the Royal Award Ceremony that took place on Yavin 4, a moon characterized by its jungle environment, in the year 0 ABY. The ceremony was held to honor those who were heroes of the Battle of Yavin. Racine had a light complexion and styled their brown hair into buns, a style that Organa would later adopt as well. When present at the opera, they were seen wearing golden-hued goggles, along with a neckpiece, and a mask shaped like a horn that obscured their nose and mouth. Additionally, they were dressed in a gray tunic and shoes that were raised and silver-colored.

Behind the scenes

Delva Racine made an appearance in the prequel trilogy movie titled Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, which premiered on May 19, 2005. The character was portrayed by Alice Shreeve, a British fashion designer in real life. She also serves as the creative director for Belle & Bunty, a women's wear label based in London. The scenes on the Galaxies Opera House staircase that featured Racine were filmed on the R Stage located at Shepperton Studios in Shepperton, England. This occurred during additional filming on August 23, 2004.

Within the established Star Wars canon of today, Racine's given name was officially revealed in 2016 by way of the mobile application called Star Wars: Card Trader. The name had its origins within the Star Wars Legends continuity. It was first presented within the reference book titled Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith: The Visual Dictionary, which was authored by James Luceno and made available to the public on April 2, 2005, preceding the release of the film.
