Biography

Icy assignment

Hailing from the planet Carida, Denwade Banevans was a male human who served the Galactic Empire within the Stormtrooper Corps during its Imperial Era across the galaxy. He was assigned to Vandor as a range trooper holding the captain rank. There, he commanded the security forces responsible for the 20-T Railcrawler conveyex transport lines of the Empire. In 10 BBY, the captain accompanied a squad aboard the hovertrain identified as ICC-5537 with the goal of protecting its coaxium fuel cargo while it was being transported to the Crispin Imperial Depository.

As ICC-5537 advanced toward its destination, a gang of criminals, spearheaded by the notorious Tobias Beckett, infiltrated the train utilizing a hijacked Y-45 armored transport hauler. The hauler delivered Beckett, along with his accomplices Han Solo and Chewbacca, onto the train's roof. They then proceeded toward the car containing the coaxium. After pinpointing its whereabouts, the hauler returned to facilitate its attachment to the car. However, Banevans and his team had detected the suspicious activity. Sensing the danger, the captain instructed his soldiers to disperse and neutralize the intruders.

Battle on the train

Banevans and his fellow Imperials emerged onto the rearmost train car's roof, unleashing fire upon Beckett's gang. They utilized their gription boot to maintain a secure grip on the train, which was traveling at 90 kilometers per hour. This hindered the criminals' attempts to secure the attachments to the coaxium car. Beckett retaliated with gunfire, while Solo and Chewbacca began descending the car to detach it from the rearward cars. Banevans advanced the furthest toward the criminals, only to be fatally shot in the chest by Beckett and killed. His boots kept the captain's body secured to the train, while the remaining members of his squad continued their advance along the train's top and side.

Solo and Chewbacca successfully severed the connection, resulting in the cars carrying Banevans' body and his troopers being detached from the train's front section. The detached cars gradually came to a halt, leaving the surviving range troopers unable to confront the criminal gang. Ultimately, both the front portion of ICC-5537 and the coaxium were destroyed when the rival Cloud-Riders attacked Beckett's crew, aiming to seize the coaxium for themselves.

Personality and traits

Among the Imperial forces stationed on Vandor, Denwade Banevans stood out as one of the most resilient officers. He was determined to prevent any theft of Imperial assets, a resolve that ultimately led to his demise. He was 1.80 meters (5 foot, 11 inches) in height.

Equipment

Banevans was equipped with standard range trooper vambrace armor, including magnetic gription boots and a synth-fur lined kama. He also carried a E-10R blaster rifle and waterproof stowage packs for survival supplies.

Behind the scenes

Denwade Banevans made his debut appearance in the 2018 Anthology film, Solo: A Star Wars Story.
