Dhen-Moh was a planetary body in space where the Galactic Empire perpetrated acts of genocide. The Sith Lord Darth Vader was a prominent participant in this horror, killing large numbers of individuals using his lightsaber. Everi Chalis, an Imperial Governor who later defected, cited these genocides when describing Vader's brutal reputation to Hazram Namir, who was a First Sergeant serving with the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry, during the year 3 ABY.
In 4 ABY, the Imperial pilot Yrica Quell, who had switched her allegiance to the Alliance's successor organization, the New Republic, contemplated Operation: Cinder, a genocidal act ordered by the Emperor himself. Quell drew a distinction between the Dhen-Moh genocides and Cinder, characterizing the former as ruthless and the latter as cruel. The historian Beaumont Kin, in his book The Rise and Fall of the Galactic Empire published in 35 ABY, observed that Darth Vader's use of his lightsaber on Dhen-Moh was just as effective at mass killing as the Empire's extermination of the entire Geonosian species using chemical weapons circa 9 BBY.
The initial mention of Dhen-Moh occurred in the 2015 novel titled Battlefront: Twilight Company, which was authored by Alexander Freed.
