This quest led them to the planet Rekkiad, where Edric encountered Canderous once more. Canderous was also seeking Mandalore's Mask, aided by Revan in disguise. Soon after, Revan guided Clan Ordo to the location where he had concealed Mandalore's Mask, enabling Canderous to claim it and become Mandalore the Preserver.
Biography
Edric Ordo, a Mandalorian warrior and member of the Ordo clan, was a Human male. He enjoyed a long-standing friendship with his clanmate and cousin, Canderous Ordo, being just a year older. Their strong bond, however, dissolved following the death of Clan Ordo's chieftain, Tegris Ordo, and the conclusion of the Mandalorian Wars. As Clan Ordo became divided and dispersed, Edric and Canderous went their separate ways.
By 3954 BBY, Edric had become part of a more unified faction of Clan Ordo, participating in the Mandalorians' endeavor to search for the missing mask of Mandalore. The armored helmet had been claimed by Jedi Knight Revan six years earlier, after defeating the Mandalorian leader, Mandalore the Ultimate, at Malachor V. Revan concealed the mask to prevent the Mandalorians from choosing a new Mandalore. Edric and the clans scoured world after world, tracing the estimated path of Revan's departure from Malachor V, eventually arriving at the planet Rekkiad located in the Outer Rim of the galaxy's. On this snow-covered world, Edric and Clan Ordo established a base camp and, under the leadership of clan chief Veela Ordo, commenced a search of the surrounding area for the mask. While serving as a sentry for the camp, Edric was surprised to be reunited with his old friend Canderous, who arrived on Rekkiad with Revan in disguise, seeking Mandalore's Mask. He greeted Canderous warmly and quickly ushered both Canderous and Revan into a large supply building to escape Rekkiad's frigid weather. Inside, Edric joined other Mandalorians in welcoming Canderous back to the clan until Veela Ordo, Canderous' estranged wife, arrived. When she angrily accused Canderous of abandoning her and the clan, Edric defended his friend by suggesting cin vhetin, a Mandalorian tradition of forgiving past transgressions and offering a clean slate. Veela agreed, allowing Canderous to remain with Clan Ordo. That night, Edric and many other members of the Ordo clan drank and celebrated Canderous' return.
In the early hours of the following morning, Canderous and Revan addressed a gathering of clan members, including Edric, requesting that Clan Ordo relocate their camp. Edric initially resisted the idea of moving, arguing that their current location was shielded from both the weather and potential attacks. However, he relented when Revan revealed that he knew the location where Mandalore's Mask had been hidden. Careful to conceal his true identity from the Mandalorians, Revan described the mask's location based on a fragmented memory, which Edric recognized as the Twin Spears mountain. Satisfied that the potential benefits of finding the mask outweighed the inconvenience of moving the camp, Veela agreed to relocate. Once the camp had been dismantled and packed for transport, Edric led a team of six scouts ahead of the clan to find the best route. By nightfall, Edric's team had discovered a small ice valley suitable for Clan Ordo to spend the night. That evening, Edric again made an effort to reconnect with Canderous and include his old friend in the clan's festivities.
Having entered the territory of the rival Clan Jendri, Clan Ordo came under attack early the next morning. However, they managed to repel the assault with the assistance of Revan and their six Basilisk war droids. When the Ordo clan reached the base of the Twin Spears, Edric was assigned to guard the camp while Veela led a team consisting of Canderous, Revan, the Basilisk pilot Grizzer, and four others to the mountain's summit. There, they discovered Mandalore's Mask, but Veela had recognized Revan's true identity during the earlier battle with Clan Jendri and turned against him, ordering her clan mates to attack the Jedi. Canderous defended his friend against the other Mandalorians' betrayal, and in the ensuing firefight, Veela and the others were killed. Canderous claimed the mask of Mandalore, assuming the title of Mandalore the Preserver, before returning to Edric and the rest of Clan Ordo.
