The natives of Zakuul named the Endless Swamp, a location on the Wild Space planet, due to its immense size. It was sparsely populated and completely lacking in technology. Several immigrant species had made it their home, including Mawvorr from Voss, Wingmaw from Balmorra, Lurkers (believed to have originated from a planet near the Torch Nebula), and rancors hailing from Dathomir. The only indigenous species known was the arachnid called the Iknayid.
The Gravestone, rumored to be the only ship that ever triumphed against the Eternal Fleet, was deliberately sunk by its owners in the eastern part of the Endless Swamp over a millennium before the Galactic War. It remained submerged there for centuries afterward.
In 3631 BBY, The Commander, who had been convicted of assassinating Emperor Valkorion, was rescued from Arcann's detention facility by Lana Beniko, Koth Vortena, HK-55, and T7-O1. During their escape, their transport was shot down, crashing within the Endless Swamp. HK-55 detected a sizable metallic presence, prompting the group (excluding T7, as they desperately needed transport off Zakuul) to investigate. They discovered the surprisingly well-preserved Gravestone. The Outlander aided Vortena in salvaging spacecraft components and a power cell, while also assisting Lana in the search for a working water filtration system. Unable to locate any functional filters, they instead stumbled upon a source of fresh water. HK-55 then identified a settlement of exiles, individuals who had protested Arcann's rule and were fleeing the Eternal Empire. The Outlander faced a moral decision: whether to help them and allow them aboard the ship, or to refuse assistance. Subsequently, Vortena began repairing the Gravestone and, after overcoming some challenges, managed to get it running.
As they prepared to depart the planet, they were attacked by the Skytroopers of the Eternal Empire and the Knights of Zakuul. Senya Tirall arrived on a speeder bike to assist them, and together they defeated their attackers. Lana and Senya, both Force-sensitives, used the Force to raise the Gravestone from the swampy ground, enabling their escape from the planet.
