The Eternal Fleet, a formidable ancient armada, originated on the planet Iokath. Sentient droids were its operators, with the Eternal Throne serving as the central control mechanism. Serving as the flagship for the Eternal Fleet, the Eternal Flagship was a capital ship. Initially, the Eternal Empire utilized it, followed by the Eternal Alliance.

This immense fleet, the Eternal Fleet, consisted of alien battlecruisers featuring an unfamiliar design. These cruisers were approximately equal to or larger than a Terminus-class destroyer employed by the Sith Empire. Equipped with advanced cloaking technology and operated by sentient droids, they were capable of overwhelming virtually any other vessel in combat. Their speed was remarkable, with only vessels enhanced with Isotope-5 able to surpass them, though Republic and Imperial ships couldn't match their combat prowess.
These capital ships were equipped with both atmospheric and space-capable drop ships for troop deployment, alongside launching starfighters. Furthermore, they utilized Skytrooper boarding pods, designed to breach enemy vessels, allowing the droid occupants to inflict damage across multiple sections of the targeted ship.
By aligning themselves in a meticulously calibrated array, the fleet could unleash a devastating combined assault. Should a vessel within this formation be destroyed during the charging phase, all ships would detonate violently, obliterating everything within the resulting blast radius.

An unknown civilization on the planet Iokath constructed the Eternal Fleet long before Valkorion's era. The fate of the Fleet's creators remains a mystery, but their creation endured. The Fleet's first documented action involved the complete eradication of life in Wild Space. It swept through Wild Space, subjugating nearly every inhabited world, including Zakuul. Ultimately, a mysterious vessel known as the Gravestone brought about their defeat, a colossal alien warship that rivaled the Eternal Fleet's strength. The Gravestone, armed with specialized weaponry capable of engaging multiple targets simultaneously, decimated entire sections of the fleet with single volleys. The Eternal Fleet was ultimately vanquished over Zakuul, leading to its deactivation and concealment. The Gravestone then landed in Zakuul's swamps, where its crew scuttled and concealed it.

Persistent rumors of this seemingly invincible fleet eventually reached Valkorion, leading him to the location where it was last sighted: Zakuul. This was the primary reason he selected the world to establish his new Empire. After gaining control of Zakuul, Valkorion employed the Scions of Zakuul's powers to pinpoint the fleet's location. Slightly over a century prior to 3636 BBY, the Eternal Fleet was reactivated, now under the control of the Eternal Throne. Valkorion utilized the fleet to carve out a substantial territory in Wild Space, keeping the ships cloaked near the capital world until required. From that point forward, the fleet saw limited action, primarily collecting tributes from the worlds under the Empire's dominion. It wasn't until a century later that the ships would engage in true combat once more. Arcann and Thexan, the twin princes of the Eternal Empire, sought their father's approval by proposing to use the fleet to assess the strength of the Galactic Republic and Sith Empire, a plan Valkorion approved.

In a swift assault, the fleet, accompanied by the princes and their Knights of Zakuul, targeted the outer planets of both governments, initially those in Wild Space and then progressing deeper, even attacking Korriban, leaving behind widespread destruction. Following this event, a joint Republic-Imperial fleet, led by Darth Marr, engaged in the First skirmish with the Eternal Fleet, resulting in the capture of both the Sith Lord and the Outlander. This ultimately led to Emperor Valkorion's demise, prompting his son Arcann to ascend to the throne and initiate the Eternal Empire conquest.
During 3631 BBY, the Eternal Fleet attempted to prevent the Outlander's escape from Zakuul, but the Outlander and their allies discovered the Gravestone, which obliterated over two dozen ships with a single shot, allowing the warship to circumvent the blockade. Later, the Eternal Fleet saw action over Asylum. Despite the Gravestone's omnicannon being inoperable, the ship managed to destroy one Eternal Empire ship with its blaster cannon before jumping into hyperspace.

Subsequently, the Eternal Fleet destroyed five planets across five separate sectors on Arcann's orders in an attempt to coerce anyone to reveal the Outlander's location.
The Alliance later attempted to seize a lone warship, hoping to integrate GEMINI Prime into the captain's chair and assume control of the entire GEMINI network. However, SCORPIO secretly betrayed the Alliance, granting the GEMINI captain free will and feigning her own destruction. While Arcann was away from Zakuul, SCORPIO's intelligence seized control of the Eternal Throne and the fleet, excluding the detachment Arcann had taken with him. The Alliance suspected that GEMINI Prime had managed to shield Arcann's support ships from SCORPIO before shutting down.

Arcann subsequently deployed his support ships to attack Odessen after SCORPIO divulged the location of the Alliance base. Only the Gravestone defended the planet, clearing a path for the Outlander's shuttle to board the Eternal Flagship. However, after the boarding party sabotaged the Flagship's weapons and shields, SCORPIO seized control of all the Eternal Fleet ships and directed them to fire upon the Flagship. As the Flagship was being evacuated, the Eternal Fleet ships formed up and began charging a powerful energy attack. The Gravestone unleashed its omnicannon at the Flagship, the chain reaction disrupting the Fleet's attack. The Flagship then detonated, obliterating the entire Fleet and saving the Alliance from annihilation.

With complete control over the Eternal Fleet, SCORPIO achieved her primary objective: granting the GEMINI units free will. Soon afterward, several Eternal Fleet ships departed Zakuul to explore the galaxy. SCORPIO then relinquished the Eternal Throne to Vaylin, assuring her that she and her "children" would provide their support.
The Eternal Fleet later invaded Voss after Vaylin learned that her mother Senya Tirall and Arcann were on the planet. The Alliance responded to the assault and engaged the Fleet. Ultimately, the GEMINI droids opted to retreat when another fleet dispatched by the Sith Empire arrived and destroyed some of their ships, an action that angered the Empress.
SCORPIO, still pursuing her own agenda, persuaded Vaylin to commandeer the Gravestone. Three Eternal Fleet ships were sacrificed in a ruse to lure the Gravestone into a trap, where Vaylin and SCORPIO boarded the frigate in a cargo ship. The Outlander brought the Alliance fleet to stop Vaylin and SCORPIO and began battling the former for control of the Gravestone. While the organics were distracted, SCORPIO gained control over the Gravestone and discovered the location of Iokath in its databanks and ordered the Fleet to travel there.

Upon entering the superstructure, the Fleet was struck by a planetary superweapon controlled by ARIES, the sole sentient droid remaining on the planet. ARIES impounded the Fleet at a docking spire, removed the crews, and scattered them across the planet to subject them to impossible trials to determine who was worthy of inheriting Iokath. Vaylin managed to rally her followers to liberate the Fleet, releasing half of the armada from the spire, while the other half were towed with tractor beams. However, one Eternal Fleet ship was destroyed upon colliding with Iokath's planetary energy shield, prompting Vaylin to order the Fleet to locate and destroy ARIES's base of operation. After SCORPIO lowered the planetary shield, the GEMINIs desired to escape, as ARIES had prepared the superweapon to fire lethally. Annoyed with GEMINI's free will, Vaylin learned from a damaged Purifier droid she captured that he can reset GEMINI to default protocols, making them all obedient again. Five Eternal Fleet ships then pursued the Gravestone, while the rest fled the planet and returned to Zakuul. Vaylin then brought the Purifier to the Eternal Throne, connecting him to the GEMINI frequency, resetting all the droids to default settings, and tested their renewed obedience by ordering one ship to destroy another.

When the Grand Festival of Empress Vaylin was disrupted by both the Outlander and Arcann, Vaylin commanded the Fleet to fire upon the Palace of the Eternal Dragon in an attempt to eliminate both her enemies.

With no one seated on the Eternal Throne, the GEMINI droids reverted to their default programming, and the fleet returned to its primal directive: extermination. The Eternal Fleet embarked on a rampage throughout the galaxy, attacking worlds such as Coruscant, Dromund Kaas, and Zakuul in an effort to eradicate all life in the galaxy.

With Vaylin's defeat, the Outlander took control of the Eternal Throne and integrated the Eternal Empire into a new Eternal Alliance, the Eternal Fleet became the navy and effectively largest threat the Alliance had at its disposal. It was then used as leverage between the smaller Alliance and its Republic and Imperial counterparts. Ironically, the fleet was the main reason for tension between the three powers, with leaders fearing the Outlander's unchecked power as commander of the Eternal Throne and its fleet.
The fleet would mainly be used for supplies runs between the Alliance and other galactic powers. It would not be until the War on Iokath that the Fleet would be used in combat for the Eternal Alliance's first military conflict. Upon arriving in Iokath's orbit, the Fleet mysteriously went offline, which Theron Shan theorized was due to the planetary superweapon. The Fleet later came back online in time when the superweapon, revealed to be the enormous droid Tyth, awoke. Tyth unleashed his power, destroy one Eternal Fleet ship before the armada opened fire on the superweapon at their master's command, forcing Tyth to retreat.

Following the events which transpired on Umbara and Copero and the apparent treachery of Theron Shan the Eternal Alliance found itself in the crosshairs of an organization known as the Order of Zildrog, under the leadership of former Horizon Guard member Vinn Atrius. This group of fanatics sought to destroy the Eternal Alliance by supposedly resurrecting the Dragon God which is their namesake. The Alliance soon discovered that this plot revolved around the world Nathema, a planet left lifeless by Valkorion when he still went under the guise of Vitiate. The Alliance Commander and Lana Beniko deployed planetside to find and stop the Order of Zildrog before they could carry out whatever it was they had planned. On Nathema they met up with Theron Shan, who as the matter fell had feigned defection to the Order in an effort to learn what Vinn Atrius was trying to do and feed information to The Eternal Alliance. Together the trio broke the defenses set in place to bar them and found themselves face to face with Atrius himself, in what they discovered was Zildrog's core.
The Dragon God of Zakuul was an advanced AI in much a similar vein to the Zakuulan pantheon, which turned out to be constructs fabricated by the builders of Iokath. Except Zildrog's body as it were, was the Gravestone itself. Upon activation, Zildrog seized control of the ship and employed its Omnicannon to utterly annihilate the Eternal Fleet in orbit above Odessen, bringing an end to the armada once and for all.
