J1-KC, a red and white R5 series astromech droid, served Jat Kaa of the Lurmen. This droid was the property of Jat Kaa's Coolers, situated in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. It was modified to operate a small cart throughout the outpost, dispensing and vending various drinks to those visiting.
Among the R-series astromech droids acquired by the Lurmen Jat Kaa was J1-KC, sourced from Mubo who runs the Droid Depot located in Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu. Kaa, the proprietor of Jat Kaa's Coolers, reconfigured J1-KC along with other droids to maneuver specially designed carts around the outpost, selling beverages like Coca-Cola, Diet Coke, Sprite, and Dasani water to patrons.
During the occupation of Batuu by the First Order in 34 ABY, the droid continued performing this function. J1-KC and its counterparts were mentioned by the writer Eloc Throno in his book, Traveler's Guide to Batuu. A cable connected J1-KC to its cart, and the drink inventory was routinely replenished by J4-KC and J5-KC, each piloting their own carts.
A red and white color palette, echoing the Coca-Cola bottle design, adorned both J1-KC and its cart. The sensor on the droid was also red, and it featured an R5 dome. As with all R-series astromech droids, Industrial Automaton was the manufacturer of J1-KC.
J1-KC made an appearance as an animatronic figure inside the themed environment of Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, inaugurated for visitors at Disneyland Park and Disney's Hollywood Studios in 2019.
