Lurmen, hailing from the Outer Rim planet of Mygeeto, were a diminutive and pacifistic species. A settlement of Lurmen, at the very least one, existed on the world of Maridun during the Clone Wars period.

Lurmen were a sentient species characterized by yellow eyes and an average height of approximately one meter. They possessed two arms and two legs, each with five digits on their hands and feet. A tail, held aloft for balance, was another notable feature. Their bodies were completely covered with either brown or gray fur, and they typically wore clothes over it. Certain individuals, such as Wag Too, could curl into a ball for faster travel. The Lurmen colonists residing on Maridun sustained themselves by consuming raw jogan fruit. Their preferred natural environment consisted of plains and grasslands. At least one Lurmen individual exhibited Force-sensitive abilities.

Lurmen used spoken language for communication and demonstrated the ability to speak Galactic Basic Standard. The majority of Lurmen embraced pacifism, as exemplified by the Lurmen colony that established itself on the uncharted planet Maridun. Tee Watt Kaa, the leader of this colony, championed non-violent and non-aggressive solutions. The Maridun colonists lived peacefully, utilizing giant seedpods for both shelter and sustenance.
Seeking refuge from violence and bloodshed during the Clone Wars, a group of Lurmen immigrants, driven by a desire for peace and led by Tee Watt Kaa, made their way to Maridun, a world not yet charted.
Later in the conflict, Jedi Generals Aayla Secura and Anakin Skywalker, along with Skywalker's Padawan, Ahsoka Tano, found themselves crash-landed on the planet after their vessel sustained damage from Separatist forces. Skywalker suffered severe injuries in the crash, and the group was attacked by mastiff phalones, prompting Tano and Secura to seek assistance. Upon discovering the Lurmen village, they requested help, but Tee Watt Kaa declined to involve his people and demanded that the Jedi depart.
Driven by the need to save her master, Tano implored Kaa to assist Skywalker. Yielding to Tano's request, Kaa dispatched his son, Wag Too, to heal Skywalker. However, Kaa insisted that a Jedi remain behind to ensure Wag Too's safety. Secura agreed and stayed with the Lurmen. When Tano and Wag Too returned to the camp, they discovered it under attack by two mastiff phalones. Wag Too, reluctant to harm the creatures, restrained them and prevented Tano from killing them. After bringing Skywalker to the Lurmen camp, Wag Too began the healing process.

Shortly after the Jedi's arrival, general Lok Durd of the Separatists arrived on the planet and declared the Separatists' occupation. The Lurmen concealed the Jedi and their Republic allies, refusing to engage in combat with the Separatists. The Jedi departed from the village, and Wag Too, defying his father's wishes, tasked a Lurmen scout named Tub with following them to ensure their safe departure from the planet.
Durd, recognizing the Lurmen's extreme pacifism, decided to utilize the Lurmen village as a testing ground for his new experimental weapon. Witnessing Durd's initial demonstration, the Republic forces warned Kaa of the impending assault, but the elder refused to resort to violence, stating his preference for death. As a last resort, the Jedi employed shield generators to protect the village, preventing damage from the weapon. In response, the Separatist general ordered his army of battle droids to attack, compelling the Jedi to defend the unyielding Lurmen.
The droids eventually overwhelmed the Jedi, prompting Wag Too to rally the younger Lurmen who did not fully subscribe to absolute pacifism. The Lurmen attacked and restrained the droids, leaving them for the Republic forces. The remaining droids retreated from the village, and the Lurmen, led by Kaa, expressed their gratitude to the Jedi.

The homeworld of the Lurmen, Mygeeto, became a battleground as the Clone Wars expanded; a battle occurred on its icy surface during the final days of the war. The Lurmen were later subjected to enslavement.
Mygeeto was the planet of origin for the Lurmen. During the High Republic Era, Giktoo Nelmo, a Lurmen Jedi Master, was highly regarded for her significant Force powers. The tribe that lived on Maridun during the Clone Wars made sure to avoid contact with the rest of the galaxy. In general, Lurmen were considered to be not very smart; however, Lok Durd, during the Separatist occupation of Maridun, admitted that the Lurmen were actually more intelligent than they seemed. Jessa Spanjaf, a data-security specialist on Lothal during the Age of the Empire seventeen years later, said that even a Lurmen who was half-blind could do a programmer's tasks because they were so easy.
During the Imperial Era, one Lurmen was included in the Queen of Ktath'atn's collection of aliens that had been implanted with Abersyn symbiotes. During the New Republic era, a Lurmen was featured in a Resistance propaganda poster entitled Defenders, which encouraged people to join and protect those who could not protect themselves.
Jat Kaa, a male Lurmen, owned a company that sold different drinks at Black Spire Outpost on the planet Batuu sometime during the war between the Resistance and the First Order.
The Lurmen species made its debut in "Jedi Crash," the thirteenth episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars. George Lucas had been thinking about lemur-like aliens since Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. Erik Tiemens developed the species, and Robert E. Barnes and Sang Jun Lee designed it. It was originally planned to appear in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith, but it was ultimately removed during production. Jackson Sze and Kilian Plunkett created the Lurmen for the Clone Wars show.
