Mubo

Mubo was a Droid Depot owner in Black Spire Outpost on Batuu, and also a male Utai. His business was the construction and sale of droids.

For Bakkar, the Ronto Roasters proprietor, Mubo did the programming for the droid 8D-J8. Later, Bakkar complained about the constant chatter of 8D-J8. Mubo then suggested to Bakkar that he should try deactivating and reactivating the droid.

Biography

Life as a droid builder

Mubo was the proprietor of Droid Depot.

An Utai [male](/article/gender], Mubo hailed from the Outer Rim planet Batuu and was a [droid builder](/article/droid_builder] for six generations. As the owner of the Droid Depot store, he held the responsibility of programming numerous droids throughout Black Spire Outpost, which is the largest settlement on the planet. One example is the pilot droid RX-24, which he obtained from Savi & Son Salvage and transformed into a DJ called R-3X for performances at Oga's Cantina. Oga Garra, the cantina owner and leader of Black Spire Outpost, considered this droid as payment for Mubo's debts, making the Utai the only individual in the settlement who had completely settled his dues with Garra.

Mubo also did the reprogramming of 8D-J8, the pitmaster droid, for Bakkar, the owner of the Ronto Roasters eatery. 8D-J8 was tasked with turning the spit, but he held aspirations of becoming a master chef. Bakkar grew irritated by the droid's constant talk about his ambitions, leading him to request Mubo to reprogram the droid on multiple occasions.

Assisting Vi Moradi

After Vi Moradi, a Resistance agent, arrived on Batuu in 34 ABY, her ship crashed in the forests outside Black Spire Outpost. Pook, Moradi's PK-Ultra worker droid, was partially recovered by Jerdan and Royce, who were enforcers for Oga Garra. The pair then sold the droid's components to Mubo. Salju, the owner of the nearby Black Spire Station, noticed them outside Mubo's shop and introduced Moradi to the Utai, hoping to help her retrieve the parts. Mubo was convinced by Moradi's story and, moved by her situation, agreed to sell the parts back to her at the same price he had paid. Furthermore, he offered to repair the droid as an act of kindness.

Behind the scenes

Within Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge, Mubo features as one of the shopkeepers, providing patrons with the opportunity to create and build their own miniature droids.
