Jac Lodain

Jac Lodain was a male Twi'lek who made his living as a farmer on the planet Batuu, specifically at Kat Saka's farm situated in the Outer Rim. Following the Hosnian Cataclysm by several months, he acted as the leader for a team of thirteen-year-old farmhands tasked with the harvest of purple Surabat grain at Saka's farm. His parents relocated to Batuu with him after his father and aunt took up arms against the Galactic Empire. In 34 ABY, when the smuggler known as Izal Garsea arrived on Batuu, Lodain and the group he led engaged in conversation during a shared meal. Subsequently, he assisted her in refilling canteens for the farm's employees working overtime. Garsea was reminded of her ex-boyfriend, Damar Olin, another smuggler, by Lodain's self-satisfied attitude.

Biography

Born in 18 ABY to his mother and father, Jac Lodain was a male Twi'lek. His father and aunt had been combatants against the Galactic Empire, resulting in his father losing an arm and his aunt experiencing death. Following this, the Twi'lek's parents established their home with him on the planet Batuu, located in the Outer Rim. In 34 ABY, Lodain's mother had become aware of Resistance activity in the vicinity of Batuu's ancient ruins, but his father urged her to remain silent due to the presence of First Order stormtroopers deployed on the planet.

Jac Lodain worked at Kat Saka's farm as a farmhand.

Months following the Hosnian Cataclysm of that year, Lodain was employed at Kat Saka's farm as a harvester of purple Surabat grain. He held a leadership role over a group of thirteen-year-old farmhands, including Shari, a human, a Sullustan, and a Gungan. The group was taken by surprise when Izal Garsea, a smuggler, was brought to the farm by their former colleague Julen Rakab. Garsea informed them she was between jobs, and the group was impressed that she possessed her own starship, the light freighter known as the Meridian. When Shari and the Gungan implored Garsea to remain at the farm, Lodain smugly dismissed Shari's suggestion, pointing out that her grandparents required a place to hide following the Clone Wars. Garsea then diffused the situation, and the group shared a meal together.

Later, Lodain accompanied Garsea to replenish canteens at the farm's well for the workers putting in overtime. He expressed skepticism regarding her reason for being on Batuu, suspecting she had come for the Resistance. Garsea denied this, but noticed that Lodain's lekku indicated his satisfaction with her admission that a smuggler was always between jobs. Garsea shared Lodain's father's view on keeping Resistance sightings quiet and listened as Lodain outlined his aspirations for bravery and greatness, advising him to fight for his relatives. Upon learning she had not yet chosen any family, Lodain suggested that she could always choose the farmhands. As the overtime alarm sounded, Lodain shook her hand and bid her farewell.

Personality and traits

Lodain harbored dreams of being courageous enough to depart Batuu and fight for a cause. He aspired to emulate his father and aunt, who had fought against the Empire. As the leader of a group of farmhands at Saka's farm, Lodain considered himself superior to his younger companions and dismissed Shari's suggestion in an abrupt manner. In the company of Izal Garsea, Lodain exhibited a smug demeanor that reminded her of her former boyfriend and fellow smuggler, Damar Olin. She observed that Lodain was attempting to impress her and that he conveyed his smugness through the movements of his lekku. Lodain developed a fondness for Garsea and proposed that she could always choose the farmhands as her family.
