During the Jedi Civil War, a Mirialan woman named Jana Lorso served as an executive for the Czerka Corporation. Specifically, she worked for the Czerka branch located at Citadel Station above Telos IV. Following Saul Karath's bombardment of the planet in 3951 BBY, Lorso was in charge of Czerka's involvement in the Telosian Restoration Project. Her employees, as well as the mercenaries she hired to guard her office, greatly disliked her. This animosity ultimately resulted in one of the mercenaries providing the Ithorians on the station with the necessary credentials to steal B-4D4-GE3.
The Ithorians, who were managing the Telos project, did not appreciate Lorso's meddling. Soon after Meetra Surik's arrival on Citadel Station, Lorso reached out to her, requesting a meeting to discuss a potential job. However, after their meeting, Surik declined Lorso's offer and instead chose to work for the Ithorians. Chodo Habat, the Ithorian leader, hired Surik to deal with Czerka on three separate occasions. The first instance involved Surik confronting Czerka mercenaries within the docking bay, successfully securing an information droid to replace one that had mysteriously vanished. The second time, she managed to steal B-4D4 and crucial Czerka documents directly from the mainframe, all without Lorso's knowledge. Finally, Surik and her companions assisted the Ithorians when Lorso dispatched her mercenaries to invade the Ithorian compound.
Lorso was also responsible for setting up three bounty targets. One of them was Batono, a former Czerka employee who intended to expose Lorso and Czerka's illegal activities to the Telosian Council. Lorso threatened him to keep him silent. After learning from Lorso that Batono had been spending time with the Ithorians, Surik turned him over to the station authorities. Batono then provided evidence that exposed Lorso and Czerka's wrongdoings. Before Batono's capture, Lorso had hired two wanted fugitives—a Devaronian and a Rodian—and sent them to the surface of Telos. Later, when Surik was forced to go to the planet's surface in search of the Ebon Hawk, she would confront and eliminate them. Following Surik's departure from the station, Lorso and Czerka were also compelled to leave.
On a more trivial note, her employees on Citadel Station suggested that she was diverting some of her supplies to Dantooine. The purpose of this was to provide funding to Azkul's mercenaries and their Exchange allies, with the goal of overthrowing the local government. However, this plan was disrupted in 3951 BBY when Azkul's mercenaries were defeated at the Battle of Khoonda. In the aftermath of the battle, the local Exchange thugs and Czerka employees were driven off the planet.

If the player chooses to follow a darker path, the Exile has the option to side with Czerka and Jana Lorso. This alternative storyline includes missions for Jana Lorso, such as stealing the Ithorians' protocol droid and rescuing Lorso from her own mercenaries.
Originally, the game's "dark side" path included a scenario where Lorso would assume control of the station as a result of Surik's actions on the station and Onderon. However, due to time constraints, Obsidian was forced to remove this event from the final game.
