Jiliac Desilijic Tiron

Jiliac Desilijic Tiron, a Hutt crime lord in the Legends continuity, spearheaded the Desilijic kajidic in the years preceding the Battle of Yavin. Being a sibling to Ziro, Pazda, and Zorba Desilijic Tiure, Jiliac was related to Jabba Desilijic Tiure as a second-degree relative, Jabba's only parent being Zorba.

When Jiliac first encountered Han Solo, a Human smuggler, Jiliac was a male Hutt Lord. Solo conveyed a message from Zavval, Jiliac's primary rival, without revealing his identity to the Hutt. Some years later, Lord Jiliac failed to recognize Solo when they reconnected for Jabba and Jiliac to enlist him as a pilot and smuggler for the Desilijic clan.

Upon Jiliac's decision to conceive and give birth to a Huttlet, the expectant Hutt transitioned to Lady Jiliac. The female Hutt successfully reproduced, dedicating much of her attention to her new child. Jabba, becoming increasingly frustrated with his aunt Jiliac, began to solidify his own control over their kajidic. Following Lady Jiliac's instigation of Aruk Besadii Aora's murder, Aruk's son, Durga Besadii Tai, retaliated by killing her. Jabba discovered her remains and suffocated Jiliac's child, eliminating any potential challenges to his authority.

Biography

Jiliac Desilijic Tiron, also known as Almighty Jiliac and the Almighty One, was a Hutt belonging to the Desilijic kajidic and was the sibling of Ziro, Pazda, and Zorba Desilijic Tiure. From a Winter Palace situated on Nal Hutta, Jiliac oversaw a criminal network and acted as the de facto governor of Dilbana.

Through his brother Zorba, who was also the sole parent of Jabba, Jiliac was related to Jabba Desilijic Tiure as a second-degree relative. Lord Jiliac and Jabba collaborated on a lucrative operation, providing raw spice to the Besadii refining facilities of Zavval and Teroenza on Ylesia. Due to a minor conflict between the Besadii and Desilijic clans, few pilots were willing to transport spice to and from Ylesia. Jiliac employed Drell pirates to raid Besadii shipments, pilfer the refined spice, and resell it for profit. This scheme was uncovered by a young Han Solo, who successfully fought off the pirates. Subsequently, Zavval dispatched Han Solo and the Sullustan Jalus Nebl to the Winter Palace, carrying a hookah pipe as a gift and a veiled threat, warning Jiliac to cease his attacks or face full-scale warfare from the Besadii. Incensed, Jiliac lost his temper, destroying his throne room and declaring Zavval a dead Hutt to Solo and Nebl, promising revenge.

The deaths of Zavval at the hands of Han Solo, Muuurgh, and Bria Tharen left Teroenza in a precarious position on Ylesia, as he chafed under the restrictions imposed by Aruk Besadii Aora on him and his fellow Priests. Although Besadii profits were decimated in the year following Zavval's death, the kajidic rebounded, exponentially increasing their wealth and becoming a greater threat to the Desilijic. Ironically, the Besadii hired their own Drell pirates to intercept Jabba's ship, piloted by Han Solo, who was now working for Jiliac and Jabba. Fortunately for Jabba, Han Solo had prior experience outfighting Drell pirates and successfully repelled them a second time. Jiliac, finding Besadii's assassination attempts too close for comfort, called for a moratorium to buy time. Around 3 BBY, Jiliac decided to have a child and conceived asexually, becoming pregnant and changing gender to female.

At a meeting of the Hutt Ruling Council, the Besadii and Desilijic clans were quick to accuse each other of various crimes. Jiliac maneuvered Aruk into declaring a moratorium, which was well-received by all clans. Upon returning to Nal Hutta, Jiliac and Jabba deemed Aruk too powerful and clever to be left alive, deciding to strike at him through his weak point, Teroenza. During this discussion, an underling informed the two Hutts that Moff Sarn Shild, responding to another insurrection in Imperial Space, intended to blockade Hutt Space and bring the Hutts to their knees, as the Empire blamed them for supplying weapons to rebel groups. Jiliac dispatched Han Solo to Coruscant to bribe Admiral Winstel Greelanx. The Hutts acquired new planetary shields for protection and enlisted the services of the pirate Drea Renthal.

Meanwhile, Jiliac's plan to undermine Aruk was progressing. Teroenza finally broke with Besadii and secretly met with Jiliac and Jabba in deep space, where they agreed that Jiliac would provide Teroenza with a concoction from the Malkite Poisoners that eroded higher brain functions in sentient beings, while not affecting primitive creatures like the nala tree frogs used as the delivery system.

The Imperials arrived in Hutt Space, blockading Nar Shaddaa. The smuggler fleet, led by Mako Spince, Solo, Lando Calrissian, and Salla Zend, had their own strategies. Jiliac had failed to bring her personal yacht, the Dragon Pearl, to the Winter Palace, and it was commandeered by the smugglers for the battle. They fought and won. In the ensuing chaos, Jiliac administered the poison, causing Aruk's brain to convulse shortly before his death. However, her victory was short-lived, as the Besadii gained a new leader, and control of Ylesia remained with them.

Following the birth of her Huttlet, Jiliac's increasing focus on her offspring worried Jabba. She spent more time with her Huttlet, delegating more tasks to Jabba, leading to his growing resentment of his aunt as he struggled to manage the kajidic alone. He secretly began to desire her position and consolidate his own power.

To assist Jabba, Jiliac suggested that the Hutt Grand Council punish the Besadii, who were unaffected by the Battle of Nar Shaddaa and continued to sell slaves and spice to the Empire. She sent Jabba to represent her on the council, where he delivered a compelling speech that swayed most of the Hutts. Durga Besadii Tai, Aruk's son, had contacted Black Sun to arrange the deaths of his rivals. As he was preoccupied with investigating his parent's death, he sent Zier as his representative. A censure vote was held, and Jiliac unexpectedly appeared, embarrassing Jabba in front of his fellow Hutts.

Durga's efforts to uncover his father's poisoner were continually thwarted by Black Sun, who sought to establish a foothold in Hutt Space for Prince Xizor. Durga sought assistance from the Prince, who revealed that Jiliac had purchased enough poison to bankrupt a medium-sized colony. Enraged, Durga challenged Jiliac under the Old Law. The two Hutts fought to the death. Durga had youth and speed on his side, while Jiliac possessed size and power. The battle reached a standstill until Jiliac noticed her repulsorsled in the corner. As she slithered towards it, intending to ram it into Durga, he reached it first, deactivating the repulsor with his tail, pinning Jiliac to the floor. Durga then repeatedly slammed his tail onto Jiliac's head until she died, continuing to pound until Jiliac was unrecognizable. After the battle, Jabba entered the room and was startled when the corpse began to tremble. It was Jiliac's offspring emerging from the brood pouch. Although Jabba would be named the unquestioned leader of the kajidic, he eliminated any loose ends by smothering her Huttlet.
