Jory

Jory, a Kadas'sa'Nikto of the male persuasion, was employed by Braden to maintain the security of the Great Hunt's operational headquarters on Nal Hutta during the era of the Cold War. While situated on Hutta, Braden came across a certain bounty hunter whom he planned to enter into the Great Hunt. Regrettably, while the bounty hunter was focused on Vexx, Tarro Blood orchestrated the deaths of both Jory and Braden, leaving Mako and the hunter to proceed with the Hunt on their own.

Biography

Providing Support to the Best

Jory, a male Kadas'sa'Nikto, collaborated with the bounty hunter Braden and the slicer Mako during the Cold War that occurred between the Galactic Republic and the reconstituted Sith Empire. He took on the responsibilities of physical labor for the team and ensured the safety of their base of operations, which was a concealed room within the Poison Pit cantina located in the town of Jiguuna on the planet of Nal Hutta. In the year 3643 BBY, Braden identified a new protégé whom he believed had the potential to emerge victorious in the competition known as the Great Hunt. This protégé made their way to the base of operations on Nal Hutta, where Braden introduced Mako and Jory as the bounty hunter's support personnel.

To successfully enter the Great Hunt, the protégé required the endorsement of the local crime lord Suudaa Nem'ro, and as such, Braden instructed Mako to locate a nearby bounty that the protégé could claim in order to solidify their reputation. After the slicer suggested that the criminal Vexx become the group's target, the protégé departed to gather information on Vexx at the criminal's designated safehouse. While the protégé was away, Jory and Mako dedicated their efforts to what Braden referred to as "all the little details" pertaining to their mission, ensuring that the protégé wouldn't have to concern themself with those matters. While Braden was engaged in a visit to Nem'ro's Palace, Mako engaged in a discussion with Jory, expressing her desire to actively participate in missions rather than remaining at the base with him. Subsequently, the protégé returned, bearing a datapad acquired from the safehouse, and Jory offered compliments regarding his new associate's skill, while Mako examined the device. Upon discovering a shuttle ticket that Vexx had booked, the protégé departed with the intention of apprehending the criminal before he could escape Nal Hutta.

A Victim of the Hunt

While the protégé was absent, the bounty hunter Tarro Blood and his accomplice Sedyn Kyne made their way to the base of operations while Braden and Jory were present inside. Braden instructed the hunter to leave, but Blood introduced himself and stated that he also had aspirations of winning the Great Hunt, and therefore was removing the competition. Assuming that Blood intended to eliminate Braden's protégé, Jory declared the rival hunter's mission a failure, as the protégé was not present at the base, and now Jory and Braden were aware of Blood's plan. Blood revealed that, as directly attacking other competitors was against the rules of the Great Hunt, he intended to instead eliminate his rival's support. Blood then ordered Kyne to kill Braden and Jory and left the room. Braden ordered Jory to shoot Kyne, but neither of them was quick enough to out draw their foe and he killed each with a single shot.

The protégé came back to the base after successfully killing Vexx and discovered Braden and Jory's bodies where Kyne had left them. Mako then returned and mourned the loss of her two friends, before she and the protégé checked the surveillance systems that she and Jory had set up in their base of operations. The pair watched a hologram showing what had occurred, and swore to continue in their goal to win the Great Hunt so that they could defeat Blood for what he had done. The protégé then left to meet with Nem'ro while Mako used the pay out from Vexx's bounty to give Jory and Braden a proper burial. The protégé ultimately avenged Jory and killed Taro Blood before successfully winning the Great Hunt.

Personality and traits

At the time of his demise, Jory regarded Mako as youthful, and she, in turn, referred to him as an "old-timer." When she expressed her preference for being out in the field rather than confined to the base with him, he did not take offense, attributing it to her age. He held a high opinion of the inherent abilities of Braden's protégé and considered himself fortunate to be a part of the support team, with aspirations that it would bring him wealth and recognition. Jory had a fondness for credits and material stability, so although he did not know the exact nature of the Great Hunt, Jory hoped the prize would be an easily divisible pay out. He had green skin and yellow eyes.
