Junction

Junction existed within the Outer Rim and also the New Territories. This celestial body was located along the Hydian Way super-hyperroute, a route that provided a link to the astronomical locations of Toprawa and Celanon. Its position was defined by the coordinates O-5 on the Standard Galactic Grid.

Behind the scenes

The planet Junction made its initial appearance within current Star Wars canon on a map featured in Fantasy Flight Games' 2016 roleplaying sourcebook, Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game. Its origins are found in Star Wars Legends as a trade planet known formally as Feriae Junction. This world initially appeared in the twenty-seventh issue of the 1977 Star Wars comic series, which was written by Archie Goodwin, with illustrations by Carmine Infantino, and published by Marvel Comics on June 26, 1979. While the comic only referred to it as Junction, the full name was first revealed in "The Hunt Within: Valance's Tale: Part 4," a Wizards.com roleplaying article. The article contained "Mission 4: The Doom of Ultaar," a scenario designed for use with the Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures game and was released on January 7, 2005, authored by Jason Fry.

The Feriae Junction name was brought into canon through flashbacks in the sixth issue of the 2020 Star Wars: Doctor Aphra comic series. Alyssa Wong wrote the series, which was published by Marvel Comics on November 25 of that year. The mention was also previewed on StarWars.com a week prior. Despite this, canon has not established a connection between Feriae Junction and Junction.
