KA-336 was a human being who functioned as a stormtrooper within the Galactic Empire during the Imperial Era. Between the years of 3 ABY and 4 ABY, KA-336, in conjunction with KV-222, was designated as a personal protector for Lieutenant Commander Sabé.
Following Sabé's assignment to a mission involving the assassination of Skakoan nationalist Jul Tambor, the two guards engaged in wagering within the Executor's armory concerning Sabé's chances of survival. After a duration of four days, the pair received notification of Sabé's return to the Executor and proceeded to her personal quarters to report for duty. Upon their arrival, they encountered the Sith assassin Ochi alongside Sabé, who was actually the former handmaiden Dormé in disguise. Dormé confronted the troopers, explaining that she had received information suggesting her recent operation might have been jeopardized and questioned them about whether they had divulged any details regarding her destination or activities.
One of the troopers denied having done so, prompting Dormé to inquire whether they had discussed it among themselves. In response, the troopers disclosed their betting incident within the armory, although they characterized it as merely wondering about the progress of their commander's mission. Dormé swiftly corrected them, pointing out that they had been wagering on her survival, and pressed them to reveal what classified information about her mission they had publicly disclosed. One of the troopers conceded that they had mentioned Sabé's mission, under the orders of Darth Vader in disguise, to assassinate Tambor.
At a later time, Vader instructed Admiral Firmus Piett to convey to Dormé that he requested her presence. Upon her arrival, she found Vader standing with his lightsaber drawn, with both KA-336 and KV-222 kneeling before him. Vader informed the commander that the two guards had failed both her and the Empire. Subsequently, Vader questioned Dormé about her intended course of action regarding their failure, while the two troopers pleaded with their commander, insisting on their innocence. The Sith Lord questioned the troopers why, despite the fact she was going to kill them, all they did was beg. The troopers then tried to grab an E-11 medium blaster rifle that Dormé also reached for, but the troopers were unable to grab it. KA-336 and KV-222 attempted to overpower Dormé and claim the weapon, but she claimed the blaster and shot them, though non-fatally, which confirmed to Vader it was not Sabé, and he demanded to know who she was. As Vader choked Dormé with the Force, she informed Vader that Sabé would have done the same thing as she had to the troopers, which Vader dismissed.
