A man lived upon the world of Chagar IX, a planet located in the Outer Rim. Together with a woman, link text they raised a human son, Kreel. On Chagar IX, Kreel's father worked as a fighter within the local fighting pits. In the year 0 ABY, when Kreel was six years old, his father's death occurred in the pits, an event witnessed by the boy.
During that year, while fighting insurgents on the Ghost Moon, Kreel, who had risen to the rank of leader of Task Force 99, an elite Imperial SCAR trooper unit, reflected on his life. He recalled his father's demise in the fighting pits, realizing he had no more tears to shed for him. Kreel confessed to himself that he had believed he was destined to perish in Chagar IX's pits, just like his father, until stormtroopers belonging to the 501st Legion arrived and brought an end to the arenas.
Kreel's father received mention in the twenty-first issue of the Star Wars comic series from 2015. Jason Aaron authored the issue, while Marvel Comics published it on July 20, 2016.
