Lucrehulk Prime

Lucrehulk Prime, a Lucrehulk-class battleship, served as a flight school for the Alliance to Restore the Republic during the Galactic Civil War. General Hera Syndulla was stationed on the battleship, where she aided in the training of new pilots. However, she was eventually captured by members of the Son-tuul Pride, who were under the leadership of Chelli Aphra.

Subsequently, the battleship pursued Aphra to Hivebase-1, only to be overwhelmed by a scaraphyte swarm. Lieutenant-Inspector Magna Tolvan of the Empire then took control of the ship's core, declaring the ship commandeered for Imperial use at Hivebase-1. Nevertheless, Aphra, having previously bugged the ship, utilized a terminal within Hivebase-1 to regain control. She directed the ship to latch onto Hivebase-1's core and then commanded X-wings to tow the datacore to the Lucrehulk Prime. With the datacore secured, Aphra detonated explosive creatures within Hivebase-1, resulting in its destruction.

History

Originally in service to the Trade Federation, the Lucrehulk Prime was later integrated into the Alliance to Restore the Republic and repurposed as a training academy for its pilots. Following the Battle of Yavin, General Hera Syndulla, along with Alliance officer Bini, oversaw this training program. At one juncture, a mercenary group, led by the archaeologist and rogue, Chelli Aphra, located the ship by deciphering jump signatures within Wat Tambor's archives. Initially, Bini believed they were enlisting, but when Syndulla approached them, Tam Posla, a former officer from the Milvayne Authority, clarified their mercenary status. Recognizing the threat, Syndulla ordered their imprisonment.

Despite disabling the cell shields, the mercenaries refrained from immediate escape, earning Syndulla's trust and a chance to explain their motives. Aphra, Posla, and Caysin Bog revealed their knowledge of accessing Hivebase-1, the R&D center for the Tarkin Initiative. However, as Posla began to elaborate, Bog deployed a series of blasters from his head compartment, set to stun. Sister Six, the assassin, intercepted the blasters and incapacitated the Alliance personnel present. Subsequently, the mercenaries abducted Syndulla and fled aboard their ship.

Aphra proposed exchanging Syndulla with the Imperial officers stationed at Hivebase-1. She also activated the tracker on Syndulla's general plaque, drawing the Lucrehulk Prime towards their location. Shortly after Aphra's team arrived at Hivebase-1, the Lucrehulk Prime emerged from hyperspace. However, the battleship was promptly assailed by the scaraphyte swarm surrounding Hivebase-1. This diversion allowed Aphra's team to infiltrate the base undetected. The Lucrehulk Prime's situation deteriorated rapidly, with its outer decks sustaining irreparable damage. As Bini attempted to launch the X-wing starfighters from the ship's core, he was ambushed and knocked unconscious by Lieutenant-Inspector Magna Tolvan, an Imperial infiltrator. Tolvan contacted Hivebase-1, announcing her seizure of the ship's core. However, instead of destroying the ship as instructed, she invoked Imperial protocol to safeguard the Lucrehulk Prime from complete destruction.

The Lucrehulk Prime latches on to Hivebase-1

Moments later, within Hivebase-1, Aphra accessed a control terminal inside the datacore to communicate with the Lucrehulk Prime. Exploiting a bug she had planted in the control core during her prior visit, she commandeered the ship. She ordered it to break through the scaraphyte swarm and attach itself to Hivebase-1. X-wings were then deployed, using tow cables to extract the datacore from Hivebase-1 and transport it to the Lucrehulk Prime. Inside the ship, troopers discovered Bini and his men unconscious in the control core, while Tolvan stealthily retreated into the ventilation system. The Lucrehulk Prime then disengaged from Hivebase-1. As it departed, the base was consumed by an explosion, triggered by sixty explosive creatures unleashed within the complex by Aphra.

During the Battle of Jakku in 5 ABY, Syndulla reflected on her experiences training cadets aboard the Lucrehulk Prime, recognizing that weapons of oppression could be transformed into symbols of hope.
