Lumas was a Padawan of the Jedi Order, and also a human. In the year 22 BBY, Lumas participated as a member of a Jedi assault team. This team, under the leadership of Jedi Master Mace Windu, journeyed to the planet of Geonosis. Their mission was to attempt the rescue of Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Jedi successfully infiltrated the Petranaki Arena, the location where Kenobi was being held captive. Inside, they engaged in combat against a Separatist Droid Army, with Lumas specifically fighting against battle droids on the arena's floor.

During the Separatist Crisis, Lumas, a human, was a member of the Jedi Order. This crisis involved a separatist faction threatening to secede from the Galactic Republic, which the Jedi had pledged to defend. As a Padawan in 22 BBY, Lumas was included in a group of 212 Jedi, forming an assault team under the command of Jedi Master Mace Windu. Their destination was the planet Geonosis, with the objective of rescuing Obi-Wan Kenobi, a Jedi Knight who was captured while spying on the Separatists.
Upon their arrival at Geonosis, the Jedi managed to get inside the Petranaki Arena. It was here that the Separatists were conducting a public execution of Kenobi, his Padawan Anakin Skywalker, and Senator of the Republic, Padmé Amidala. After the prisoners managed to free themselves from captivity, Windu confronted the Separatist leader, Count Dooku, and revealed the presence of the assault team, who then emerged within the arena. In response, the Separatists deployed a droid army into the arena. Lumas was one of the Jedi who fought against the battle droids on the arena's floor.

During the conflict, Lumas was using a lightsaber to deflect blaster fire. At one point, a Jedi near the Padawan redirected a blaster shot, causing it to strike a battle droid that had the head of protocol droid C-3PO attached to its body, resulting in the droid's decapitation. The droid forces eventually gained the upper hand, overwhelming the Jedi within the arena and surrounding a group of survivors, which did not include Lumas. Subsequently, Grand Master Yoda arrived with clone trooper reinforcements, rescuing those who were encircled.
From the initial deployment of two hundred and twelve Jedi to the arena, only twenty-nine survived. Nevertheless, the Jedi and the Republic achieved victory in the battle, marking the beginning of the Clone Wars. In the days following the battle, Padawan Iskat Akaris realized that she had not seen Lumas, nor the Padawans Tan Yuster or Galdos Stouff since the battle on Geonosis when considering the losses suffered by the Jedi.
The character of Lumas was played by stunt performer Dean Gould in the prequel trilogy movie Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, which premiered on May 16, 2002. The scenes involving the Jedi battle within the Petranaki Arena were shot on Stage 3 at Fox Studios, Sydney, between August 10 and August 15, 2000. Within the current Star Wars canon, the character's name was established as Lumas in the 2023 novel titled Inquisitor: Rise of the Red Blade, authored by Delilah S. Dawson. The name's origin lies in the Star Wars Legends continuity, where the character was initially identified as Lumas Etima in the Star Wars Saga Daily Calendar 2003, which was made available on August 1, 2002.
