Marnia Un'la'na's racer

The ace pilot and First Order informant known as Marnia Un'la'na possessed a racer that she employed in races. She entered the All Aces Battle Royale competition at the Colossus supertanker fuel depot in 34 ABY, bringing her vessel to the event. While the race was underway, Un'la'na was trying to transmit a concealed data cache from her racer to the First Order, all while attempting to stay ahead of her competitors. The Twi'lek ultimately emerged victorious in the All Aces Battle Royale; however, Kazuda Xiono, a spy for the Resistance and a fellow participant, used a encryption recorder to capture the data transmitted from her racer and subsequently forwarded it to the Resistance.

History

Marnia Un'la'na in her racer

While serving as an informant for the First Order, Un'la'na used her ship to compete in several racing events, thereby achieving widespread recognition throughout the galaxy. She brought her racer to the Colossus supertanker fuel depot in 34 ABY to participate in the All Aces Battle Royale race. Un'la'na intended to use her ship while on the platform to transmit a substantial data cache to Major Elrik Vonreg of the First Order during the competition, using the event's comm traffic as a means of concealment. Kazuda Xiono, the spy for the Resistance, noticed her arrival and, with the help of the astromech droid BB-8, spied on the Twi'lek, thus discovering the specifics of her mission for the First Order. Xiono then relayed this information to Poe Dameron, a Resistance pilot, who informed him that Un'la'na would likely attempt to conceal her encrypted transmission during the upcoming race by using her racer. Dameron instructed Xiono to take part in the competition and fly closer to the Twi'lek's ship in order to intercept the data cache.

Marnia Un'la'na piloted her racer during the All Aces Battle Royale.

Xiono entered the race using the alias "Bolt-Shatterer-K" after stealing a racer. Following the race's commencement, as announced by Jak Sivrak, the announcer, Un'la'na quickly moved her racer to the front of the pack. Although Xiono initially lagged behind her vessel, the Resistance spy eventually flew close to Un'la'na's ship and directed BB-8 to activate their Republic encryption recorder in order to capture her message. However, when Hype Fazon's craft, the Green Ace, collided with his racer, Xiono's vessel momentarily moved out of range of Un'la'na's ship. Despite the damage sustained by Xiono's borrowed ship, his encryption recorder was still able to capture the transmission sent from the Twi'lek's vessel.

Un'la'na's racer continued to advance in the race, and Sivrak made announcements to the spectators regarding her progress. Noticing Xiono gaining ground, she exerted her best efforts to evade him on the racecourse, much to the spy's frustration. As the race progressed, Sivrak announced when Un'la'na had officially taken the lead and, ultimately, when she secured victory in the race, establishing a new speed record. After the encryption recorder had captured the transmission from Un'la'na's ship, Xiono discontinued his pursuit and executed a crash landing of his damaged ship onto a landing pad. Soon after, he handed over the data from the Twi'lek's ship to Dameron, who, with the assistance of general Leia Organa of the Resistance, decoded the information.
