The "All Aces Battle Royale," also referred to as the "All Aces," was a sky race that took place every ten cycles for elite pilots on the ocean-covered planet of Castilon. This event occurred during the Cold War period between the First Order and the Resistance in 34 ABY. It was hosted on the Colossus refueling station, drawing numerous pilots, including Pamarthens, individuals hailing from Hosnian Prime, and Marnia Un'la'na, a First Order operative, all of whom journeyed to Castilon to compete.
Using the alias "Bolt-Shatterer-K," Resistance spy Kazuda Xiono participated in the race with a borrowed backup racer. His objective was to stay close to Un'la'na's ship in order to intercept a transmission she was sending to the First Order. He, along with several other pilots, including members of Ace Squadron such as Torra Doza, Hype Fazon, Freya Fenris, and Bo Keevil, commenced the race following the announcement by Jak Sivrak, the announcer. After successfully using an encryption recorder to capture her data transfer, Xiono was forced out of the race and experienced a crash landing. Un'la'na emerged victorious, claiming the race's top prize and establishing a new time record for the course. Subsequently, Xiono delivered the intercepted transmission to the Resistance.
On the supertanker fuel depot Colossus, which was stationed on the ocean planet Castilon, the "All Aces Battle Royale" sky race, also known as the "All Aces," was an event held every ten cycles for elite pilots. Over time, this event gained recognition as one of the most significant in the Outer Rim, even when compared to the challenging Dragon Void Run race. Many racers were often eliminated within the initial minutes while striving to secure the top prize. Typically, many pilots would travel to the Colossus for a few days to take part, a routine that Z'Vk'Thkrkza, known as "Aunt Z"—the owner of Aunt Z's Tavern—had grown accustomed to.

Shortly before an "All Aces Battle Royale" was scheduled to occur during the Cold War between the First Order and the Resistance in 34 ABY, a number of Pamarthen pilots, elite pilots from Hosnian Prime, and Marnia Un'la'na, a First Order operative and pilot, journeyed to the Colossus to compete alongside the platform's own Ace Squadron members. The Resistance spy, Kazuda Xiono, was puzzled by the sudden increase in activity and learned from Aunt Z about the nature of the "All Aces" event. She expressed her view that it made the Dragon Void Run seem like a simple children's speeder race by comparison. Upon discovering that Un'la'na was using the race as a means to transmit information to the First Order, Xiono stole a backup racer belonging to a pilot from Hosnian Prime. He then entered the event under the pseudonym "Bolt-Shatterer-K" to attempt to intercept the transmission, as suggested by Resistance pilot Poe Dameron.

Following the race announcer Jak Sivrak's signal to start, the pilots began flying in close proximity to one another. The Ace Squadron pilots Torra Doza, Hype Fazon, Freya Fenris, and Bo Keevil launched from the Colossus alongside the other competitors in their respective racers: Blue Ace, Green Ace, Red Ace, and Yellow Ace. Un'la'na's ship surged ahead, with Xiono closely trailing behind, as she aimed to establish a sufficient lead to securely transmit her message to the First Order. Sivrak continued to provide commentary on the race, noting that several pilots had already been eliminated. As Xiono narrowed the gap, he instructed his astromech droid, BB-8, to use an encryption recorder to capture the transmission. However, another craft collided with his vessel, pushing him further back.
As Xiono fell behind, he struggled to regain his position near Un'la'na's ship. The First Order operative, unaware of the spy's presence, maintained her lead with the goal of winning the event. Sivrak announced Un'la'na's lead to the spectators, also mentioning the newcomer "Bolt-Shatterer-K" closing in on her. Shortly after intercepting the final portion of Un'la'na's transmission, Xiono collided with Fazon's ship, forcing him to withdraw from the race and crash-land, an event Sivrak reported to the audience. Meanwhile, Un'la'na continued to pull ahead and ultimately won the race, securing the top prize and setting a new course record.
Following the race, Xiono retrieved the data from Un'la'na's race transmission from his damaged ship's data log backup and handed it over to Dameron. Dameron and Resistance General Leia Organa analyzed the data and expressed their gratitude to Xiono for obtaining it during the race, which dealt a blow to the First Order. The Resistance spy also returned the borrowed racer to its owner, who was shocked to find their backup racer in such a damaged state within their hangar.
The "All Aces Battle Royale" race made its debut in "All Aces Battle Royale," a comic story penned by Kevin Burke and Chris "Doc" Wyatt, with illustrations by Valentina Pinto. IDW Publishing released the story in the sixteenth issue of the 2017 Star Wars Adventures comic series, which was made available on December 19, 2018.
