The RK-392, more commonly referred to as the Mobile Tac-Pod, represented a specific type of troop transport and landing craft. It was deployed by the Corporate Tactical Forces of Preox-Morlana, as well as the Pre-Mor Enforcement, to land corpos on various planetary surfaces. Notably, in 5 BBY, a Pre-Mor Security Inspection team under the command of Deputy Inspector Syril Karn and Sergeant Linus Mosk employed a trio of Tac-Pods to reach a settlement on Ferrix with the intention to arrest Cassian Jeron Andor.

The Pre-Mor Enforcement utilized the mobile Tac-Pod, a troop transport and landing craft, for the purpose of deploying sentry guards from BTY-180 carriers onto planetary surfaces, and to provide aerial support to its ground units. A solitary pilot controlled the craft from a raised and cushioned cockpit located at the front. The rear troop compartment could accommodate a minimum of six standing officers. An entry ramp facilitated the crew's entry and exit, positioned beneath a warning sign displaying "CAUTION" in Aurebesh.
The Tac-Pods were equipped with a single laser cannon mounted on a ball joint at the front, a single-barrel turret situated between the two engine units on the roof, and a fixed cannon on each wing root, just outside the engine cowling. For landing, the wings folded upwards towards the engines, creating space for crew disembarkation. While capable of atmospheric flight, the engines lacked Hyperdrive capabilities, necessitating docking with Preox-Morlana interstellar vessels for interplanetary travel. The craft featured a reinforced hull and transparisteel viewport, offering protection against small arms fire.

Mobile tac-pods functioned as both landing vehicles and aerial platforms for surveillance in urban environments.
In 5 BBY, after arriving on the planet Ferrix within the Free Trade sector via a personnel carrier, a Pre-Mor Security Inspection Team of twelve individuals, headed by Deputy Inspector Syril Karn and Sergeant Linus Mosk, deployed three Tac-Pods to reach their designated landing zones within a settlement where they believed the wanted fugitive Cassian Jeron Andor was located. During a subsequent skirmish, the Tac-Pod of North Team met its end when a local secured it to a large piece of debris, causing it to lose power and crash.
The mobile tac-pod was initially shown in the promotional trailer for Andor Season One. Its identification followed four days later during the Summer LEGO Star Wars panel at the 2022 Celebration Anaheim on May 28, 2022. The tac-pod made its debut on-screen in the third episode of Andor Season One, titled Reckoning.
