Mountain
Alderaan's peaks were covered in snow.
A mountain can be defined as a landform that rises considerably above the surrounding terrain. Throughout the galaxy and known universe, numerous terrestrial planets displayed mountain ranges, including Asmeru, Carida, Moraband, Serenno, Ryloth, Geonosis, Oba Diah, Oosalon, and Lothal. They could also be found on the extragalactic world of Peridea, as well as in the ethereal dimension of Mortis. On Alderaan, Vandor, and Scipio, the mountains were capped by snow. On Coruscant, the only visible mountain peak was situated in Monument Plaza. A volcano is a mountain that ejects lava.
Mount Tantiss on Wayland housed a secret installation belonging to the Galactic Empire's Advanced Science Division.
In some cases, mountains served as habitats. Examples include the Galactic Empire's base located within Mount Tantiss on Wayland, and the mountains of Dathomir, which were home to a witch clan. On Vagadarr Prime, the blue mountains were inhabited by warring tribes and were also giants made of living stone. On the desolate planet Skara Nal, a mountain concealed an ancient superweapon, rendered dormant by an artifact known in pirate lore as the Heart of the Mountain.
