Mural Veen was a politician of Eriaduan descent, identified as a female human, who held the position of Planetary Governor for the planet of Eriadu during the High Republic Era. During the [Great Hyperspace Disaster](/article/great_hyperspace_disaster], the Nihil Tempest Runner known as Kassav Milliko attempted to coerce Governor Veen, promising to avert the impending damage to Eriadu from one of the Emergences. After two pieces of the Legacy Run impacted the Eriadu system, with one striking a group of lommite cargo transports, Veen relented and transferred the credits demanded by Milliko. Nevertheless, Milliko was unsuccessful in stopping the third and last fragment of the Emergence from colliding with Eriadu's inhabited moon. Seething with rage at the apparent deception, Veen pledged revenge on Milliko and his associates, personally commanding an Eriaduan fleet in the Battle of Kur against the Nihil of Milliko's Tempest alongside the forces of the Republic Defense Coalition. As the battle neared its conclusion, Veen requested permission to board Milliko's flagship, the New Elite, where she shot and killed Milliko herself.
Mural Veen's initial appearance was in the 2021 novel The High Republic: Light of the Jedi, authored by Charles Soule. This novel was a contribution to Phase I of the Star Wars: The High Republic multimedia project. Her depiction in visual form occurred later, specifically in the ninth issue of the 2023 comic book series Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures. Daniel José Older wrote the issue, Toni Bruno provided the illustrations, and Dark Horse Comics published it on August 21, 2024 as part of Phase III of the multimedia project.
