Naator

Naator was a planetary body located in the Mid Rim Territories, identifiable by its icy mountain ranges, and classified as a planet. During the Galactic Civil War, this world provided support to the Galactic Empire's wartime activities. As part of Operation Ringbreaker, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry targeted Naator, ultimately defeating the Imperial forces stationed there. Separately, a commando unit from the rebellion discovered a crashed GX1 short hauler amidst Naator's mountainous terrain, with documentation implying it might have been the Intrepid Heart starship.

History

Naator was targeted by the 61st Mobile Infantry (patch pictured) as part of Operation Ringbreaker.

Naator's resources were funneled into the Galactic Empire's military machine during the Galactic Civil War. In the year 3 ABY, the Rebel Alliance's 61st Mobile Infantry set their sights on Naator as part of Operation Ringbreaker, a campaign aimed at Imperial targets near the Rimma Trade Route. The 61st engaged in combat and triumphed over the Empire's military presence on the planet before proceeding onward. The Rebel Alliance Intelligence Service had previously approved Operation Ringbreaker, and General Crix Madine included Naator in his report detailing the initial phase of the operation. Archivist Hendri Underholt later acquired this report and incorporated it into The Rebel Files, a collection of non-electronic documents.

At some point, a commando team belonging to the Alliance discovered a crashed Galactic Republic GX1 short hauler nestled high within Naator's mountains. The records suggested that the ship might have been the Intrepid Heart, the personal transport that belonged to a Jedi Master who was on a mission to recover Sith artifacts, and was lost. In 4 ABY, the Force ghost of Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi communicated with Luke Skywalker, an aspiring Jedi, during a visit to the swamp planet Dagobah. Kenobi impressed upon Skywalker the idea that the destiny of Naator, along with numerous other worlds, hinged on a final battle between Skywalker and the Sith Lord Darth Vader.
