Nar Haaska was a shadowport that could be found on the edge of both Hutt Space and the Outer Rim Territories. By 10 BBY, Bandit Billie and her band of shipjackers confronted the space yacht called the Star Jewel, belonging to the crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, while it was stopped on Nar Haaska. Their theft attempt failed, and the yacht then headed toward a repair yard on Keldooine.
This terrestrial astronomical object, Nar Haaska, was located at the border of Hutt Space on the Outer Rim Territories, specifically within the Slice. Furthermore, its location was identified as grid square T-11 on the Standard Galactic Grid.
During the Galactic Empire's reign, which is to say the time when the Empire was in power, Nar Haaska functioned as a shadowport. Maz Kanata, the pirate queen, had marked its location on a galactic map that was part of a logbook eventually known as the Smuggler's Guide.

The space yacht Star Jewel, owned by the crime lord Jabba Desilijic Tiure, paused at Nar Haaska around 10 BBY. While there, Bandit Billie, a shipjacker, and her Taurill crew tried to take the vessel, but they only managed to slightly damage the yacht's landing gear and hull plating. Billie was injured by a Gamorrean wielding a vibroax. Bib Fortuna, Jabba's majordomo, later obtained the Smuggler's Guide from the would-be thief, and after rerouting the Star Jewel to a repair bay on the planet Keldooine, Fortuna wrote about the Nar Haaska encounter in the book.
Nar Haaska's first appearance in the new Star Wars canon was on a galactic map in the Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, a 2016 Star Wars Roleplaying boxed set from Fantasy Flight Games. The world Nar Haaska was originally introduced in the Star Wars Legends continuity, first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, by Daniel Wallace and Jason Fry. In a 2009 article on Suvudu.com, Fry noted that Nar Haaska was among the Hutt Space worlds created for The Essential Atlas that were given "Hutt-sounding" names.
