Ottlis Dos

Ottlis Dos, a human male, functioned as the dedicated bodyguard for Moff Ghadi. His initial encounter with Arihnda Pryce occurred during his time as a student under Juahir Madras's tutelage. He later provided her with lessons in martial arts. Under the guise of a martial arts training session, Ottlis extended an invitation to Pryce to visit his employer's office. It was not long before Pryce realized that Ottlis' employer had requested her presence for a meeting. The Moff then disclosed that Ottlis was, in fact, his undercover agent and proceeded to blackmail her.

Biography

Government bodyguard

During the Imperial Era, Ottlis Dos held the position of personal bodyguard to Moff Ghadi. In the years leading up to the Battle of Yavin, Ottlis honed his skills under the guidance of Juahir Madras, a martial arts instructor operating out of the Yinchom Dojo situated on the galactic capital of Coruscant. Juahir, secretly a rebel operative associated with Nightswan, leveraged her position at the Dojo to enlist bodyguards as spies, tasking them with acquiring files and data pertaining to Imperial mining activities. However, Ottlis was a double agent, his true allegiance lying with his employer, Moff Ghadi.

While receiving specialized hand-to-hand combat instruction from Juahir at the dojo, Juahir received an urgent communication from her friend Arihnda Pryce, whose transport had malfunctioned, stranding her in the perilous lower levels of Coruscant. As Juahir successfully defended Pryce from a gang of youths, Ottlis observed his instructor's ability to single-handedly defeat the aggressors, forcing their retreat. Madras instructed him to refrain from intervening, explaining that as a government bodyguard, any use of force would necessitate extensive paperwork. Juahir, as a private citizen, was not subject to such regulations and could easily claim self-defense.

When Pryce voiced her interest in learning martial arts, Juahir explained that the dojo was fully booked, but she suggested Ottlis's services as a combat instructor. Although Pryce was hesitant to impose, Ottlis expressed his willingness to teach her, noting that teaching is the best way to truly understand a subject. When Pryce inquired about his availability, Ottlis assured her that his employer was absent for the next six weeks, allowing him to instruct her at his employer's vacant office suite. Pryce accepted the offer from Ottlis and Juahir on the condition that she treat them to dinner that evening.

Trapping Pryce

For a number of weeks, Ottlis provided Arihnda with instruction in hand-to-hand combat. Subsequently, Moff Ghadi returned to Coruscant for a visit, resulting in Ottlis missing their last two training sessions. Ottlis arranged for Pryce to meet him at the office of his employer, Moff Ghadi. He led an unsuspecting Pryce into the presence of Moff Ghadi, who demanded that Pryce reveal who had engaged her Higher Skies Advocacy Group to disrupt his financial and mining operations.

After Pryce convinced Ghadi that Higher Skies was not specifically targeting him, he assigned her the task of spying on Higher Skies and relaying information from the organization to him. To ensure Pryce's cooperation, Ghadi threatened to falsely accuse Pryce of stealing confidential files and datacards. Ghadi then revealed that Ottlis was his double agent and had been providing him with information about her all along. Ottlis transported Pryce back to her residence in an airspeeder, during which neither of them spoke.

Ghadi's gamble

In a state of despair, Pryce sought assistance from the Chiss Imperial officer Commander Thrawn. Thrawn persuaded her to betray her colleagues at Higher Skies in exchange for protection from Imperial Security Bureau Colonel Wullf Yularen. After acquiring data from Higher Skies, including files related to Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin, Pryce met with Moff Ghadi, offering to provide him with information about Tarkin, aware of Ghadi's rivalry with the Grand Moff.

Seeking an opportunity to blackmail Tarkin, Ghadi instructed Pryce to transfer Tarkin's data onto a datacard and deliver it to Ottlis at an address in Whitehawk Tower. He specifically instructed Pryce to hand the card only to him. Pryce followed Ghadi's instructions. However, she then turned the tables on both Higher Skies and Ghadi by disclosing the former's espionage activities to Grand Moff Tarkin and the latter's willingness to exploit the stolen data against Tarkin. This resulted in the arrest of Higher Skies' members, Juahir, and presumably Moff Ghadi. The ultimate fate of Ottlis remains unknown.
