Arihnda Pryce was a Lothalite human female who held the position of imperial Governor of the planet Lothal for the Galactic Empire, reporting to Moff Stattata. Known for her duplicity and ambition, Pryce utilized unscrupulous methods and power maneuvers to ascend to political prominence and secure her role as Planetary Governor. During Pryce's governance, Lothal was transformed into a hub for Imperial expansion and industrial development. This Imperialization led to the emergence of a small rebellion on Lothal, and her repeated failures to suppress it ultimately contributed to a larger rebellion against the Empire. Ultimately, Pryce's destructive nature led to her downfall; following a series of desperate attempts to defeat the rebels, she met her death when they successfully liberated Lothal from her control.
Born and raised on Lothal, Arihnda Pryce was both the heir to, and the manager of, the local family mining enterprise, known as Pryce Mining. Subsequent to selling the company to the Galactic Empire, she began her service as an aide to Senator Domus Renking of Lothal, thus entering the political circles of Coruscant, while her parents relocated to Batonn. Her tenure was cut short, however, when she became implicated in a scheme involving Renking and Moff Ghadi. After a period working for a citizen assistance office, she became a member of the Higher Skies Advocacy Group. It was during this period that she forged alliances with influential figures such as Governor Wilhuff Tarkin and a rising Navy officer, Thrawn, and began formulating her strategy for acquiring power. Through acts of betrayal and deception, Pryce orchestrated the downfall of Moff Ghadi, her associates at Higher Skies, the Governor of Lothal Ryder Azadi, and Senator Renking. Leveraging her newfound power, she successfully petitioned for and received the appointment as Governor of Lothal, effectively replacing Azadi.
As the Governor of Lothal, Pryce oversaw a significant increase in the Empire's presence on the planet, transforming it into a major Imperial stronghold within the Outer Rim Territories. Shortly after Pryce's appointment, the neighboring Batonn system faced an insurgent threat. Under the guise of intelligence gathering, Pryce journeyed to Batonn with the true intention of rescuing her parents. While attempting to escape with them, Pryce murdered ISB Agent Gudry, and in an attempt to conceal her involvement in his death, she detonated a mining facility, destroying the insurgent forces and causing many civilian casualties. After successfully avoiding suspicion, she returned to Lothal to confront the growing rebellion, spearheaded by the Phoenix Cell. In order to effectively combat the rebels, Governor Pryce requested the assistance of Grand Admiral Thrawn in identifying and eliminating them.
Pryce collaborated with Thrawn and ISB Agent Kallus in their efforts to suppress the rebel presence within the Lothal sector. Throughout the insurgency, she actively worked to suppress dissent on Lothal, participated in a failed hunt for rebel leader Mon Mothma, and played a role in the Battle of Atollon, where Thrawn besieged Phoenix Cell's base. As the small rebellion evolved into the Alliance to Restore the Republic and engaged in war with the Empire, Lothal was subjected to increased strip-mining and industrialization under Pryce's direction. The rebel cell that originated on Lothal, known as the Spectres, returned to the planet with the goal of liberating it from Pryce and the Empire. After defending against a rebel attack, Pryce destroyed the Lothal City fuel depot, resulting in the death of rebel leader Kanan Jarrus, but also causing her to fall out of favor with Thrawn, whose projects depended on the planet's resources. Fearing the consequences of her actions, Pryce launched a desperate assault on the Lothal resistance's base. However, her attack failed, leading to her capture. During the final battle between the rebellion and Thrawn's forces, Pryce remained loyal to the Empire and was killed.
Arihnda Pryce was a human female hailing from the Outer Rim planet of Lothal. Born around the years 49 to 45 BBY, Arihnda was the offspring of Elainye Pryce and Talmoor Pryce. Her family was the proprietor of a mine on Lothal, situated on land shared with the Governor of the Lothal sector, Ryder Azadi. She experienced a tranquil childhood as a Lothalite, cherishing moments spent watching sunsets and observing children from diverse species and backgrounds playing together. Arihnda enjoyed a privileged upbringing filled with social activities, including dance recitals and school debates, many of which were proudly documented by her parents.
Despite a joyful and fulfilling childhood, as Arihnda matured and faced the pressures of adulthood, she grew to resent the perceived dullness of Lothal's open spaces, finding them lacking in culture and excitement. Viewing Lothal as uninteresting, Arihnda yearned to escape to more cosmopolitan worlds, where she believed excitement and sophistication thrived. Her father, Talmoor, eventually discovered a source of doonium, a valuable metal essential for constructing starship hulls and highly sought after by the expanding Imperial Navy. Upon reaching adulthood, Arihnda inherited her father's mining business, Pryce Mining.

In her mid-thirties, Arihnda faced a challenge when Azadi, then serving as the Governor of the Lothal sector, sought to gain control of Pryce Mining's doonium mines. To achieve this, he dispatched Arik Uvis, one of his staff members, to acquire an additional 21 percent stake in the company, which would grant him a controlling interest. However, Arihnda declined the offer. In response, Governor Azadi's office falsely accused Arihnda's mother, Elainye, of embezzlement. Learning of this from her father, Talmoor, Arihnda visited the police station, only to discover that her mother's bail request had been denied and that she was being prevented from receiving visitors. After consulting with Talmoor, Arihnda realized that Uvis was behind the fabricated charges against her mother. Desperate for assistance, Pryce sought the help of Lothal's Senator, Domus Renking.
Senator Renking agreed to assist Pryce's mother by shifting the blame onto Pomi Harchmak, the Lutrillian heavy equipment inventory operations manager. To prevent Azadi from seizing control of the company, Renking persuaded Arihnda to transfer the rights of her company to the Empire. As compensation, he secured new positions for Arihnda's parents as assistant manager and foreman at the Creekpath Mining and Refining complex on the planet Batonn. Renking also arranged for Pryce to work as a staff member at one of his citizen assistance offices on Coruscant. With limited options, Pryce accepted Renking's terms and sold Pryce Mining to the Empire. After the meeting, Pryce spent three hours persuading her parents to accept the opportunity, while also cautioning them about the potential dangers of refusing. She assured them that, despite her past helplessness, she would support them in the future. Ultimately, Pryce's parents agreed to leave their home and relocate to Batonn.
On Coruscant, Arihnda Pryce earned a reputation as a dedicated and effective civilian assistance officer, advocating for the interests of Lothalian expatriates in the galactic capital. On one occasion, Pryce confronted Chesna Braker, a landlady, for neglecting to repair a leaking pipe in one of her tenant Daisie's apartment buildings. Following a heated discussion, Braker reluctantly agreed to fix Daisie's leaking pipe after Pryce reminded her of her obligations under Coruscant laws and regulations.

In return for her services, Senator Renking utilized a new program designed to encourage senators to fund supplementary citizen assistance offices, providing Pryce with a managerial position at his fifth new office in the Bartanish Four Sector. This new job included an apartment located two blocks and six levels away from her workplace. Unlike her previous position, this new office was accessible to all Coruscanti citizens. Pryce viewed the Bartanish Four Sector job as a modest advancement toward the all-powerful Federal District.
As time went on, Arihnda befriended Juahir Madras, a waitress, and her friend Driller MarDapp, who was affiliated with the Higher Skies Advocacy Group. She assisted Juahir in finding an apartment in her own building and helped her move her belongings. During the Ascension Week celebrations preceding Empire Day, Pryce leveraged her position as a senatorial employee to secure Juahir and Driller invitations to an exclusive Imperial ball held at the upscale Alisandre Hotel. The ball was attended by numerous Senators and Imperial Military officers, including Colonel Wullf Yularen of the Imperial Security Bureau, Ensign Eli Vanto, and Senior Lieutenant Thrawn, a Chiss officer.
During a conversation with the group, Arihnda learned that Thrawn was a rising star in the Imperial Navy, having successfully neutralized a group of pirates in the Mid Rim Territories. Pryce also became acquainted with Ensign Vanto and discovered that Colonel Yularen had brought Thrawn and Vanto to Coruscant to facilitate social networking. Senator Renking then tasked Pryce with delivering a datacard to Moff Ghadi, instructing her to instruct Ghadi to load the card onto a secure datapad, download the files, and return the card to his office. Unaware of any ulterior motives, Pryce told Juahir and Driller to enjoy themselves and that she would return shortly.

At Moff Ghadi's office, Pryce discovered that Senator Renking had planted false data on the card. Moff Ghadi gave her a different card and sprayed her with polstine spice, a highly illegal drug that could result in a life sentence. With Pryce now in legal jeopardy, Moff Ghadi blackmailed her into returning the datacard to Senator Renking's office. Pryce then slipped out of the ballroom and took an air taxi to Renking's office. Following Ghadi's instructions, she inserted Ghadi's data card into the slot in the desk safe. Pryce then spent the night at Driller's borrowed apartment, dismissing Juahir's questions by claiming to be ill.
The next day, Pryce arrived at Senator Renking's office to learn that his office was under investigation for financial and corporate irregularities. As a result of funding cuts, Senator Renking closed seven of his citizen assistance offices, including Pryce's office in Bartanish Four Sector. After dismissing the other employees, Senator Renking confronted Pryce, who explained that she had no choice because Moff Ghadi had threatened to have her arrested. Senator Renking dismissed her for her naivety and demanded the return of her airspeeder key. He also evicted her from her apartment and sent several Ugnaughts to remove her personal belongings.

After losing her job, Arihnda Pryce sought solace in her friends Juahir and Driller. When Juahir inquired whether her dismissal was related to her abrupt departure the previous night, Pryce confirmed that it was but declined to elaborate. Feeling sympathy for Pryce, Juahir offered her a place to stay at her apartment and a job at the restaurant Topple. Arihnda accepted the offer to stay with Driller and Juahir for the remainder of Ascension Week but made it clear that she would find her own place.
Determined to be self-sufficient, Pryce secured employment at the Proam Avenue Citizen Assistance office. Despite a hostile reception from Nariba, the receptionist, Pryce convinced the manager, Alistar Sinclar, to hire her by highlighting her experience in dealing with tenancy, employment, and legal disputes. Due to a shortage of employees, Sinclar agreed to let her work for free for the rest of Ascension Week. Impressed by Pryce's assertiveness, Sinclar assigned her to desk eight.

One year after the events at the Alisandre Hotel, Juahir and Driller invited Pryce to dinner at The Pinnacle, an upscale restaurant in the Federal District. During the dinner, Driller extended an invitation to Arihnda to join his Higher Skies advocacy group, hoping to leverage her expertise in mines, mining, and refining. Pryce also learned that Juahir had become a martial arts instructor at the Yinchom Dojo, which trained bodyguards for Imperial senators. Although the new position offered limited benefits, Pryce accepted Driller's job offer because she wanted to re-enter the centers of political power. She also accepted Juahir's offer to share her apartment and provide dinner for her friend.
As a member of a licensed advocacy group, Arihnda observed that Imperial politicians and bureaucrats took notice of her group's advocacy efforts. While her new job did not pay as well as her previous position with Senator Renking, Pryce found Driller to be a reliable employer who paid her on time. He also had sufficient credits to provide her with attire suitable for interacting with elites. One evening, Driller informed her of an unusual increase in Imperial takeovers of mining facilities and entire planets. He tasked her with compiling a list and evaluating the importance of the mines in question, the circumstances surrounding the Imperial takeovers, and any discernible patterns.

Upon examining the data, Pryce discovered that the Empire had nationalized 28 mines dating back to a year before Renking had acquired Pryce Mining. She noted that 21 of these takeovers had occurred within the past year. While investigating the recent takeover of Umbara, Pryce discovered that Captain Thrawn, the Chiss she had met at the Alisandre Hotel the previous year, had played a crucial role in suppressing the insurgency there. On her way to Juahir's home, her turbolift malfunctioned and stopped on the dangerous Level 4120. Using her comm, Pryce maintained contact with Juahir, who instructed her to head to another turbolift six blocks to the west.
Before reaching another turbolift, Pryce was confronted by six young thugs who demanded that she buy them a drink. Before they could harm her, Juahir arrived with one of her bodyguard students, Ottlis Dos. Juahir used her martial arts skills to defeat the thugs in combat, causing them to flee. After Juahir introduced Pryce to Ottlis, Pryce accepted martial arts lessons from Ottlis, who worked for an Imperial official. Out of gratitude, Pryce treated Juahir and Ottlis to dinner that night.
When Captain Thrawn, along with Ensign Vanto and Colonel Yularen, visited the Yinchom Dojo, Pryce greeted Thrawn and his companions. When Colonel Yularen inquired about the woman overseeing a sparring session nearby, Pryce identified her as her friend Juahir, an instructor. Pryce explained that she was visiting the dojo to establish contacts with some of the bodyguards who were training there. Pryce and the others then observed Thrawn engaging in a sparring session with H'sishi, the Togorian master. Thrawn and his companions had visited the Yinchom Dojo to investigate its connections with Higher Skies, which was suspected of spying on senior Imperial officials.

Later, Ottlis invited Pryce to his employer's office under the pretense of a martial arts training session. Pryce soon discovered that Ottlis' employer, Moff Ghadi, had summoned her for a meeting. After exchanging pleasantries, Ghadi questioned Pryce about her involvement with the Higher Skies Advocacy Group. Ghadi believed that Higher Skies was attempting to undermine him, citing that a meeting with a Higher Sky employee preceded the recovery of some of his confidential financial information from a smuggling gang and a raid on one of his mines a week later. When Pryce asked what was stolen, Ghadi reiterated that nobody would get away with robbing a Moff. He demanded that Pryce reveal who had hired Higher Skies to sabotage him, suspecting Senator Renking or his rival, Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin.
Arihnda confessed that she did not know who had sent Higher Skies to disrupt Ghadi's operations. At Ghadi's suggestion, she decided to contact her boss, Driller. She informed Driller that she was having a special evening training session with Ottlis at Moff Ghadi's office. Pryce also told Driller about her plan to apply for an office assistant position with Grand Moff Tarkin. Despite his reservations, Driller encouraged her to apply for the job. Following her comm conversation with Driller, Pryce explained that Ghadi was not "anyone's" target because he had not instructed her to search Ghadi's office. Ghadi accepted Pryce's explanation but ordered her to copy all of Higher Skies' files, report on all their conversations, and compile a list of their contacts. Ghadi secured Pryce's cooperation by threatening to alert the Imperial Security Bureau. Ghadi also revealed that Ottlis was his double agent.

After returning to the apartment she shared with Juahir, Pryce contemplated her situation. She decided to accept Ghadi's offer and spent the next hour gathering Higher Skies' files and records from their computer. After organizing the data, she arranged a meeting with Commander Thrawn. Arihnda met with Thrawn at a booth in the Gilroy Plaza Diner and confided in him about her predicament with Moff Ghadi and Higher Skies. Thrawn advised her to exploit Ghadi's animosity toward Grand Moff Wilhuff Tarkin by pursuing two possible strategies: transforming the threat into an ally and then using him against the enemy, or using the threat as leverage against the enemy to make him an ally. Thrawn also advised her to be prepared to betray her friends Driller and Juahir in order to gain Colonel Yularen's protection. Implementing her plan, Arihnda contacted Moff Ghadi and offered to provide him with all the information that Higher Skies had on Grand Moff Tarkin. Ghadi instructed her to download the data onto a datacard and deliver it to Ottlis at a Whitehawk Tower address.

Later, Pryce managed to gain access to Lady Teeyr Hem and her husband Senator Hem, who were Phindians, by gifting them an expensive bottle of wine. Under the guise of lobbying Grand Moff Tarkin, Pryce convinced Driller to secure an audience with the senior Imperial official. During the meeting, Pryce revealed that Higher Skies was using bodyguards to spy on high-ranking Imperial officials and senators. She also informed Tarkin that Commander Thrawn had advised her to initiate a "double-layer thief program" to expose Higher Skies' activities. In exchange for her services, Pryce persuaded the Grand Moff to authorize long-overdue repairs on Thrawn's ship, the Thunder Wasp, and to grant Eli Vanto a long-overdue promotion.
Seeking revenge on Ghadi for blackmailing her, Pryce also provided a voice recording proving that the Moff had ordered her to gather Higher Skies' information about Tarkin and send it to him. Grand Moff Tarkin was pleased, as this provided substantial evidence of a high-ranking official conspiring to use illegally obtained data to undermine another high-ranking official. In return for providing information on Lothal's economy and society, Pryce convinced the Grand Moff to appoint her Governor of Lothal as a means of avenging herself against Governor Azadi and Senator Renking for taking her parents' mining company. Pryce reasoned that being made Governor would humiliate the former and make it easier to take down the latter. Tarkin accepted her offer in exchange for receiving the remaining data.
Utilizing Pryce's information, Colonel Yularen's Imperial Security Bureau arrested Driller and the other members of Higher Skies. Accompanied by Colonel Yularen, Arihnda visited her friend Juahir at Yinchom Dojo and arrested her for using her training position to recruit and indoctrinate high-level bodyguards as spies. Yularen informed Juahir that one of her students, Kaniki, had attempted to assassinate his employer, Senator Evidorn. Juahir protested that her group had not instructed their bodyguards to kill anyone. With Higher Skies' activities exposed, Pryce demanded that Juahir declare whether she was her friend or merely a tool.

Juahir attempted to convince Pryce of her sincerity as a friend, asserting that her growing doubts about the Empire began after Senator Renking's dismissal of Pryce. When Yularen inquired about Pryce's awareness of the elusive Nightswan, Juahir stated that Driller had previously mentioned the name, but their focus was solely on improving the Empire for everyone. Juahir denied accusations from Pryce that she was being used as a pawn. In her plea for Pryce's assistance, Pryce responded by advising her former friend to cooperate with Colonel Yularen to avoid execution. Arihnda pledged to leverage her position as Governor to secure Juahir's release from prison within a few years.
Pryce countered Colonel Yularen's inquiries about Master H'sishi by arguing that the evidence was insufficient to accuse the dojo of conspiracy, referencing Thrawn's assessment of the Togorian and the absence of written proof of her guilt. Showing compassion towards H'sishi, Pryce suggested that the dojo leave Coruscant without delay. She cautioned that Juahir might attempt to shift blame onto her. H'sisi accepted Pryce's counsel. Upholding his commitment to Pryce, Grand Moff Tarkin facilitated Vanto's promotion to Lieutenant Commander and Thrawn's promotion to Commodore. Furthermore, Thrawn was appointed commander of the Imperial Star Destroyer Chimaera.
Following Azadi's accusation of treason against the Galactic Empire and subsequent imprisonment, Arihnda Pryce was designated as the Acting Governor of the Lothal sector. As a result of her agreement with Grand Moff Tarkin and the Imperial crackdown on Higher Skies, Pryce dedicated several years to training on Coruscant to prepare for her role as Governor. While Pryce studied the intricacies of her new responsibilities, she entrusted the governance of Lothal to several ministers, including Maketh Tua, the Minister of Industrial Production. Despite the usual requirement for governorship appointments to pass through the Imperial Palace, Tarkin utilized his influential connections to bypass bureaucratic procedures.
Upon her return to Lothal, Minister Tua greeted Pryce and informed her of a twenty percent reduction in refinery output. After discovering that Pryce Mining's doonium vein had been depleted, she mandated the company's closure. Pryce also ensured that individuals who had previously worked for her family received priority in securing the most desirable positions. Subsequently, she arranged a meeting with her longtime adversary, Senator Renking. When Senator Renking voiced objections to the closure of Pryce Mining, Governor Pryce responded that the mine was operating at a loss and that its employees would be reassigned elsewhere. She also reaffirmed her authority over the Senator and cautioned him that she had influential friends and patrons.
In secrecy, Pryce contacted Eccos, the Anx mining boss, and confronted her about concealing information regarding a hidden doonium vein. Given that Pryce had closed Pryce Mining, she permitted Eccos to continue extracting the remaining doonium covertly. Over the following months, Pryce dedicated her time to reinforcing the Empire's presence on Lothal within its Capital City. The Empire expanded industrial operations, augmented the mines, and increased its military presence on the planet. Despite protests from local farmers whose lands were seized for the construction of new factories, military installations, and mines, Pryce remained resolute, believing that the Imperial presence would foster prosperity and create employment opportunities. Under Pryce's leadership, Lothal evolved into the central hub for the Imperial presence within the Lothal sector.
Some time later, Pryce found an opportunity to resolve past conflicts with her old rival, Senator Renking. When Minister Tua informed her that Governor Sanz of Kintoni was intending to expand her planet's military-grade landing and maintenance facilities, Pryce perceived Kintoni's actions as a threat to her aspirations of establishing Lothal as the primary Imperial naval base and center in that region of the Outer Rim Territories. Pryce criticized Tua for lacking her ambition to modernize Lothal. Pryce traveled to Coruscant to advocate for Lothal's interests, leaving Minister Tua in charge.
After arriving on Coruscant, Governor Pryce dispatched research materials and maps to Commodore Thrawn, endorsing Lothal's proposal to augment the Imperial Navy's presence on the planet. Thrawn reviewed the information and expressed support for Pryce's plans. Governor Pryce intended to present before the Imperial High Command in support of Lothal's bid. Pryce then visited Senator Renking and persuaded him to convince Governor Sanz to withdraw Kintoni's bid. Two days later, the corrupt senator successfully bribed Governor Sanz into sabotaging her presentation in exchange for a monetary payment.
Six days later, the select Committee of the Imperial High Command ruled in favor of Lothal, awarding the planet a contract to expand Imperial naval facilities. Following the meeting, Pryce expressed her gratitude to Renking for his assistance. Shortly thereafter, Major Hartell of the Imperial Security Bureau arrested Senator Renking for bribing Governor Sanz. When Renking protested his innocence and claimed that Pryce had instructed him to do so, Pryce countered that she had only told him to speak with Sanz and emphasized that her account of events was supported by the recording.
After the arrest of Senator Renking, Pryce returned to her office and received notification from her receptionist that her former friend Juahir had sent her a message approximately two hours earlier. Juahir was incarcerated at the Oovo 4 detention center and had been sending Pryce twenty messages over the past year. However, Pryce had instructed her Lothal office to reject them. Still harboring resentment towards her former friend, Pryce instructed the receptionist to retain the documents, stating that she was not yet prepared to read them.

On one occasion, Arihnda Pryce journeyed to Coruscant to discuss Lothal's industrial and mining sectors, where she was received by Grand Vizier Mas Amedda. Following Lothal's acquisition of the Imperial contract, Grand Moff Tarkin invited Pryce to visit his home planet of Eriadu. Pryce indicated that she would return to Coruscant for the Ascension Week celebrations that year. Pryce's governance also witnessed the emergence of a rebellion, notably in Capital City.
In 5 BBY, Senator Bail Organa of Alderaan provided Pryce with two droids, C-3PO and R2-D2, to facilitate negotiations for an Imperial arms deal. While on loan to Minister Maketh Tua, the droids were captured by the rebels of the Ghost, who opposed the Empire. C-3PO attempted to contact Governor Pryce for assistance, but the call was intercepted by agent Kallus of the Imperial Security Bureau.
During the Empire Day festivities commemorating the fifteenth anniversary of the Empire's rise, Pryce was invited to Coruscant to celebrate alongside Galactic Emperor Sheev Palpatine. She was occasionally absent, and Minister Tua oversaw the government during those times. In Pryce's absence, the rebels persisted in attacking Imperial targets, drawing the attention of Tarkin and, subsequently, Darth Vader.
Subsequently, Governor Pryce, along with the now Admiral Thrawn, Colonel Yularen, and Lieutenant Commander Vanto, attended a high-level security meeting presided over by Fleet Admiral Jok Donassius to address the escalating rebel insurgency in their region of the galaxy. When Governor Restos inquired about Pryce's presence, Fleet Admiral Donassius explained that Pryce had requested to attend the meeting as an observer, given that the Lothal system was in proximity to the area of concern and experiencing significant unrest. He assured the other delegates that the Lothal insurgents were being managed by Admiral Kassius Konstantine.
Colonel Yularen then informed the delegates that a group of insurgents had seized control of Scrim Island, an offshore island situated 300 kilometers west of the main continent on Batonn. He reported that the insurgents had taken a hundred hostages, including Imperial Navy troopers, technicians, and some civilian workers. The insurgents also controlled the island's energy shield, its shoreline defenses, and three ion cannons. While Thrawn was initially assigned command of the mission, he insisted on conducting a preliminary study of the island. Donassius disagreed and appointed Admiral Durril as the mission's commander.
Ultimately, Thrawn's assessment proved accurate, and Admiral Durril's forces suffered substantial casualties. Consequently, Thrawn was tasked with addressing the insurgents. By analyzing the local geography and rebel fortifications, Thrawn's forces were able to employ his ships' firepower to generate tsunamis, disabling the ion cannons, a concealed turbolaser cannon, and the deflectors. Following the surrender of the insurgent forces on Scrim Island, Thrawn successfully arranged a meeting with Nightswan but was unable to persuade him to surrender his forces.
Thrawn then shifted his focus to the Batonn insurgents who had retreated to the Creekpath Mining and Refining complex located outside Paeragosto City on Batonn's main continent. The Imperial military and Batonn Defense Force forces initiated a siege of the mining complex. Pryce convinced Colonel Yularen that she could assist the Empire by gathering intelligence on the insurgents' defenses and weapons setup while evacuating her parents. At Yularen's insistence, Pryce reluctantly permitted ISB Agent Gudry to accompany her inside the Creekpath complex. Gudry's mission involved scouting the insurgents' defenses and planting explosives under the guise of locating a friend who purportedly worked as a weapons electronic expert at the mine. Pryce and Colonel Yularen traveled to Batonn from the planet Dennogra. Thrawn reluctantly approved Pryce and Gudry's mission.
Pryce and Gudry successfully entered the mining complex using falsified identification, with Pryce donning a fake blonde wig and eye lenses. After reuniting with her parents at their Batonn home, Pryce convinced her father, Talmoor, to accompany her and Gudry into the mine under the pretense of rescuing Gudry's friend. Pryce also discovered that her parents sympathized with the Batonn insurgents due to the corruption of Restos and his associates. Realizing that Gudry intended to detonate the mining complex, Pryce pretended to assist Gudry. However, she decided to devise an escape plan and "borrowed" her mother's comm. Pryce was primarily concerned with her parents' well-being and safety.
Pryce, Talmoor, and Gudry gained entry to the mine with her father's assistance. During the journey, Pryce learned more about the local governor's corruption from her father. Inside the mine, Pryce feigned illness and slipped into a parked speeder truck. Imitating her mother's voice, Pryce managed to summon Gudry and Talmoor back, claiming that Talmoor was unwell. Arihnda successfully returned her father home, leaving Gudry to search for his friend alone. Upon returning to her parents' home, Pryce convinced them to evacuate by asserting that an Imperial taskforce was planning to bomb Creekpath to neutralize the insurgents.
Before Pryce could depart with her parents, Agent Gudry returned and reprimanded her for failing to assist his mission. Gudry also revealed that his mission was not a rescue operation but a search and destroy mission to plant bombs near the explosives cache and the shield generator. When Pryce pleaded for him to take her parents with them, Gudry responded that he could not allow them to attract attention to him. Following a confrontation, Pryce fatally shot him. Before departing with her parents, Pryce discovered Gudry's comm, which contained the two triggers for the shield and explosives bomb. Unaware of the unfolding events, Admiral Thrawn ordered his forces to engage the Creekpath insurgents, and Colonel Yularen dispatched a retrieval squad to rescue Pryce.
Upon reaching the checkpoint, Pryce detonated a bulldozer using one of Gudry's explosive caps and capitalized on the ensuing chaos to kill a guard. When Elainye inquired about the situation, Pryce claimed that the man had been struck by shrapnel. They soon encountered a pair of Imperial Navy troopers who informed Pryce that Colonel Yularen had dispatched a retrieval team to locate her. Pryce proceeded to the Imperial ground headquarters with her parents. After arriving there, she triggered Gudry's explosive remote in the cache of explosives to prevent Yularen's special guard from discovering Gudry's body. The resulting explosion resulted in the deaths of all the insurgents within the mine, Yularen's retrieval squad, and numerous civilians residing near the complex.
When her mother expressed horror at what she perceived as an Imperial attack, Pryce attributed the situation to the insurgents' provocation. Pryce then sent her parents on the transport Duggenhei to the governor's mansion on Lothal. Governor Pryce and Colonel Yularen subsequently attended a debriefing with Admiral Thrawn. Colonel Yularen expressed outrage at the high civilian casualties. Concealing her role in Gudry's death, Pryce claimed that Gudry had detonated the explosives upon being captured by the insurgents. When Pryce conveyed her condolences for Gudry, a skeptical Yularen confronted her about the deaths of the soldiers he had dispatched to retrieve her. Despite the significant loss of life, Pryce was pleased that the insurgent leader Nightswan had been killed.
Following the debriefing, Governor Pryce engaged in a private conversation with Admiral Thrawn. Recognizing the military strategist's lack of political acumen, she offered her services as his political advisor. Despite Thrawn's unease regarding the high civilian casualties, Pryce convinced him to accept credit for neutralizing the Batonn insurgents. She also sought Thrawn's assistance in addressing the growing rebel insurgency in the Lothal sector. Pryce successfully enticed Thrawn by arranging for his appointment to the Seventh Fleet. Thrawn accepted her offer to serve as a political advisor before departing for an audience with the Emperor on Coruscant. In private, however, Thrawn confided in his friend Commander Vanto his suspicions that Pryce had played a role in the Creekpath bombing. Despite the absence of evidence, Thrawn remarked that there was "often a symmetry to things." During the subsequent meeting, Thrawn was promoted to Grand Admiral and given command of the Seventh Fleet.

Throughout her tenure as governor, the escalating rebellion continued to destabilize regions of the Empire, with Lothal being no exception. Pryce convened with Grand Moff Tarkin to address the increasing threat posed by the rebel insurgency. During the meeting, Pryce informed Tarkin that the situation on Lothal was stable but that a prison breakout had occurred on nearby Naraka. Dissatisfied with Konstantine's performance, whom she regarded as more of a politician than a soldier, she believed that the only effective means of eradicating the rebellion was to enlist the aid of someone capable of "seeing the bigger picture." Tarkin acknowledged her concerns and granted her request for the Seventh Fleet.
Subsequently, Pryce and Tarkin met with Admiral Konstantine and ISB Agent Kallus on the bridge of an Imperial Star Destroyer. Konstantine disputed Pryce's assessment that the Phoenix Group posed a significant threat and dismissed them as a localized insurgency. At that juncture, they were joined by the decorated Imperial officer, Thrawn, who had recently been promoted for his role in suppressing the rebel presence in the Batonn sector. When Kallus expressed concerns regarding the high civilian casualties, Pryce defended Thrawn's actions on the grounds that the rebel presence there had been eliminated, demonstrating her disregard for innocent lives.
When Tarkin sought Thrawn's perspective on Pryce's theory that the rebels were affiliated with a broader rebellion, Thrawn discussed the recent rescue of the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka from Naraka prison. Given that Phoenix Group had destroyed Mining Guild vessels a mere hour after Ohnaka's rescue and Ohnaka's cellmate Terba had been a laborer at the nearby Imperial junkyard Reklam Station, Thrawn surmised that the rebels intended to raid the junkyard and steal several decommissioned Y-wing starfighters for their fleet. Thrawn pledged to eliminate the rebels before they could jeopardize the Emperor's plans and the Galactic Empire.
Following Thrawn's instructions, Governor Pryce, Admiral Konstantine, and Agent Kallus traveled aboard their Star Destroyer to the planet Yarma, which housed Reklam Station. Upon receiving notification from Commander Brom Titus that the Spectres had attacked Reklam Station, Pryce ordered him to await reinforcements. However, the rebels successfully stole the Y-wings, liberated the Ugnaught laborers, and destroyed the station. Pryce's Star Destroyer arrived in time to intercept the rebel Y-wings, which lacked hyperdrives. Before the Imperials could eliminate the stolen fighters, other rebel ships, including the Ghost and a Quasar Fire-class cruiser-carrier, arrived and managed to transport the Y-wings to safety. After consulting Thrawn, Pryce instructed her forces to permit the rebels to escape, as Thrawn believed that sparing the rebel cell would enable them to track down and destroy the larger movement.

Following that event, Pryce and Agent Kallus proceeded to Skystrike Academy. There, they met with Instructor Goran and informed him that several of his cadets were planning to defect to the rebellion. When Goran protested that his cadets were thoroughly trained and loyal, Pryce cautioned him to cooperate with their investigation and informed Kallus that she had something to teach him.
Under Pryce's direction, Agent Kallus proceeded to ground the cadets and interrogate them. His investigation yielded no results, but Pryce remained unsatisfied and decided to adopt a more direct approach. When Goran reiterated his dissatisfaction with the investigation, Pryce suggested that they could reach a mutual agreement by getting the cadets into space through a mock simulated exercise. Pryce intended to use this exercise to draw out the dissident cadets. As anticipated, the undercover rebel agent Sabine Wren and the cadets Wedge Antilles, Hobbie and Rake Gahree attempted to escape.
Sabine contacted her fellow rebels aboard a CR90 corvette and attempted to rendezvous with them. Pryce ordered Sabine and her wingmates to return, but Sabine taunted her. In response, Pryce activated a button that disabled the TIE fighters' solar collectors, leaving them stranded in space. Under her orders, Captain Vult Skerris destroyed Rake's fighter as a warning to the "traitors." Skerris and his TIE interceptors inflicted damage on the rebel cruiser and forced them to retreat.
After capturing the rebellious cadets, Governor Pryce confronted the three youths. She was about to torture Wedge with an electronic torture device when Sabine identified herself as the rebel agent. While Agent Kallus escorted the other prisoners to a holding cell, Pryce proceeded to interrogate Sabine. When Sabine refused to cooperate, Pryce retrieved a glyph of her file and "welcomed" the former cadet back to the Imperial Academy. Before she could subject Sabine to the torture device, the rebel agent broke free from her stormtrooper captors and engaged in combat with Pryce, who displayed surprisingly adept combat skills. Pryce smirked, remarking that the Empire had trained her well; Sabine retorted that her clan had taught her better and sent the governor reeling with a powerful right hook. Stumbling backwards, Pryce inadvertently activated the torture device and was zapped with a powerful surge that rendered her unconscious. Sabine, Wedge, and Hobbie then seized the opportunity to escape with the assistance of Kallus, who had developed sympathy for the Spectres following his encounter with Garazeb Orrelios.

While aboard an Imperial Star Destroyer, Agent Kallus commended Governor Pryce on her scheme to ensnare the Spectres at a fuel depot. Pryce countered, stating that the plan's success hinged on capturing the rebels. Subsequently, Admiral Konstantine informed them of an encrypted distress signal received from Agamar. Despite finding the rebels' apparent predicament unusual, Pryce promptly ordered the nearest Imperial outpost to dispatch troops to Agamar. This decision led to a skirmish where the Spectres and a Separatist garrison, led by the super tactical droid Kalani, allied to evade the Imperials.
Ryder Azadi's former rebel cell initiated a campaign of sabotage targeting military vehicles manufactured at the Imperial Armory Complex. This resulted in a surge of accidents involving Imperial Military personnel. In response, Imperial High Command deployed Grand Admiral Thrawn to investigate the Lothal Imperial factory. Governor Pryce, along with Agent Kallus and Lieutenant Yogar Lyste, were present as Thrawn delivered a scathing speech to the workers, criticizing their substandard workmanship. Pryce exhibited a smug expression after a demonstration involving a sabotaged 614-AvA speeder bike resulted in the death of factory worker and undercover rebel operative Morad Sumar.
Following Thrawn's directives, she and her subordinates initiated a lockdown of the factory and detained the workers for interrogation. Despite these measures, the undercover rebels Ezra Bridger, Kanan Jarrus, and their astromech droid Chopper managed to evade the lockdown and infiltrate Section A2, where Thrawn's top-secret new weapon was stored. Later, Pryce expressed her concerns about the rebels potentially stealing the secrets held within Section A2. Thrawn reassured her that he had ordered the termination of anyone entering the area without his personal code. When the Admiral questioned Pryce's decision to hire locals, she explained that she was obligated to meet specific Imperial quotas.
Upon Kallus' request for more information on Thrawn's new weapon, Pryce revealed that Thrawn was spearheading a new starfighter initiative. Kallus questioned whether a single fighter could significantly improve the Empire's prospects, Thrawn countered that victory and defeat often hinged on minute details. Pryce witnessed Thrawn ordering a factory worker to demonstrate an AT-DP walker. When the walker malfunctioned, Thrawn commanded the stormtroopers to arrest the worker.
Despite Thrawn's security measures, Ezra's team successfully stole the starfighter plans and escaped with the assistance of a mole who had secretly alerted the Phoenix Group to the project. Pryce and Kallus subsequently visited Thrawn's Office to discuss the recent rebel incursion. Thrawn voiced his suspicion that the Rebels had a mole within the Lothal Sector's Command Staff, Pryce, alarmed, advocated for the interrogation of all Imperial personnel on Lothal. However, Thrawn advised against acting on emotion and declared his intention to uncover the traitor and manipulate them.
Sometime later, Grand Admiral Thrawn intercepted a message using the code phrase "By the light of Lothal's moons," confirming the presence of a mole within the Lothal Sector's Sector Command Staff, operating under the codename Fulcrum. Thrawn and Pryce monitored Fulcrum's subsequent transmission, aiming to identify him based on the intelligence he provided to the Rebels. Given that only a high-ranking Imperialist could access the intel Fulcrum leaked to the growing Rebellion, Thrawn and Pryce quickly deduced that Fulcrum was not only a spy for the Rebel Network but also a traitor to the Empire. They enlisted Yularen's help in the hunt for Fulcrum. Governor Pryce and other Sector Command staff attended meetings and interviews with Thrawn and Colonel Yularen aboard Thrawn's flagship Chimaera. While aboard the ship, Pryce met up with Agent Kallus and Lieutenant Lyste and thanked the latter for capturing a Lothalian bounty hunter, who had stolen a Star Commuter 2000 shuttle.
Within Thrawn's Office, Pryce met privately with Thrawn and Yularen. Inquiring about progress in identifying Fulcrum, Thrawn suggested that the spy had been present during their interviews and revealed his plan to use the spy to expose the rebels. Yularen then informed them that a coded transmission had been sent from the Chimaera after Lyste and Kallus had boarded the ship with the bounty hunter.
Subsequently, Pryce accompanied Thrawn and Yularen to the Chimaera's detention block. Upon arrival, they discovered that the prisoner had escaped. Reviewing the register, Yularen noted that Lyste had been the last to enter the brig, based on his code cylinder. Following Thrawn's instructions, Governor Pryce and a pair of stormtroopers encountered the two undercover rebels Kanan Jarrus and Rex, disguised as stormtroopers. These "stormtroopers" had arrived aboard Shuttle TY992 to pick up Fulcrum and the Rebel operatives Ezra, Chopper, and the RA-7 protocol droid AP-5.
Knowing they were Rebels, Governor Pryce ordered them to remove their helmets and submit to arrest. When Kanan attempted a mind trick on her, she resisted and ordered her stormtrooper escort to stun him. Pryce then engaged in hand-to-hand combat with Rex. Despite gaining the upper hand, she was stunned by Lyste, who mistakenly believed she was Fulcrum. Lyste was arrested as Fulcrum. Governor Pryce accepted Kallus' account that Lyste was a spy. Colonel Yularen publicly corroborated Kallus's account by linking Lyste's code cylinder to the rebel infiltration.
Later, Arihnda Pryce and Admiral Konstantine attended a meeting with Grand Admiral Thrawn to discuss plans to capture the former Imperial Senator Mon Mothma, who was being transported by members of the Spectres rebel cell through the Archeon Nebula. Pryce and Konstantine both expressed skepticism that Phoenix Leader Hera Syndulla would risk navigating the treacherous Archeon pass. Eager to silence Mon Mothma, Pryce volunteered for the mission. Thrawn then dispatched her and Admiral Konstantine to position two Star Destroyers outside the Archeon Nebula. Thrawn then dispatched the elite TIE fighter pilot Skerris in a prototype TIE Defender to flush the rebels out of the Nebula.
The Ghost, Hera's ship, successfully exited the Archeon pass, only to be intercepted by Pryce and Konstantine's two Star Destroyers. When Governor Pryce demanded Mothma's surrender, the Senator issued a list of demands, which Pryce promptly rejected. Pryce then instructed Konstantine to use their Star Destroyer's tractor beam projector to pull the Ghost into its hangar bay. Shortly after, the rebel pilots Gold Leader Jon Vander and Ezra Bridger escaped Skerris' TIE Defender and emerged from the nebula with their two remaining Y-wing fighters. Governor Pryce experienced a crushing defeat when the rebel pilots, under Hera's command, launched their proton torpedoes into the Archeon Nebula, creating a firestorm that damaged both Star Destroyers. The Ghost and its Y-wing escorts then fled to Dantooine, where Mothma delivered an impassioned speech on HoloNet urging rebellion against the Empire.
Governor Pryce and Admiral Konstantine attended an urgent meeting with Grand Admiral Thrawn and Grand Moff Tarkin to discuss new intelligence indicating that the Phoenix Squadron and General Jan Dodonna's Massassi Group were planning an assault on the TIE Defender factories on Lothal. During the meeting, Pryce expressed her belief that a coordinated rebel attack was unprecedented. Thrawn later pinpointed the location of the hidden Chopper Base. Governor Pryce subsequently accompanied Thrawn and the captive Kallus, who she learned was the real Fulcrum, aboard the Star Destroyer Chimaera during the Battle of Atollon.
Thrawn blockaded the Atollon system, trapping the two rebel forces. The Empire inflicted heavy losses on the rebels, destroying numerous starships and starfighters. However, Admiral Konstantine's interdictor vessel was destroyed when he disobeyed Thrawn's orders and attempted to intercept Commander Jun Sato's command ship Phoenix Nest. This allowed the rebels Ezra Bridger and Chopper to escape into hyperspace aboard the Nightbrother in search of assistance.
After the rebel ships retreated to Chopper Base, Governor Pryce observed the Imperial fleet bombarding the base, which was protected by a deflector shield generator. While Thrawn led the ground assault, Governor Pryce commanded the Imperial fleet. When Ezra returned with Mandalorian reinforcements led by Sabine Wren and Fenn Rau, Pryce recognized Sabine's forces and ordered the TIE fighters and capital ships to intercept them. A Mandalorian strike team then targeted the second interdictor cruiser.
In response, Governor Pryce deployed several Jumptroopers to defend the interdictor cruiser. However, the rebels managed to destroy the ship's gravity well projectors, disabling the interdictor. When the captive Kallus taunted her about displeasing Thrawn, Pryce ordered her stormtroopers to throw him out the airlock. Kallus managed to escape aboard an escape pod and flee into hyperspace with the retreating rebels. Pryce was visibly displeased with the rebels' escape.
Pryce, alongside Thrawn, arrived at the Lothal Imperial airfield to evaluate the improved version of the TIE Defender. They were greeted by Skerris, who offered a demonstration flight. Following the spotting of rebel Jedi Padawan Ezra Bridger and his subsequent attack by the TIE Pilots, Pryce ordered his arrest, while Thrawn instructed his Death troopers to secure the prototype.
When the Elite was hijacked by Sabine and Ezra, Pryce suggested activating its kill switch. Thrawn declined, stating that it would be a valuable opportunity to assess its combat capabilities. After the "test" concluded, he permitted Pryce to activate the kill switch. Upon the Elite's crash, Pryce immediately dispatched forces to the crash site in search of the rebels, but they were unsuccessful.
Pryce collaborated with the assassin Rukh to locate the rebels' hiding place. After Rukh planted a transmitter that revealed the rebel camp, he requested to proceed alone, but Pryce denied his request, citing his previous failure to capture them. Instead, she opted to deploy several tanks. When the tanks failed and the rebels retreated further into the mountains, Pryce rejected Rukh's request to pursue them, choosing to bombard the mountains instead. This tactic also proved ineffective, as the rebels managed to escape with the aid of the Loth-wolves.
Aware of an impending attack on Lothal's fuel depots and the factory where the Elites were being manufactured, Thrawn tasked Pryce with defending the factory, which was fortified with anti-air turrets. The Lothal rebel cell sabotaged the towers housing the turrets, destroying them with explosives and leaving the factory vulnerable to attack. Pryce informed Thrawn of this sabotage, who assured her that no rebels would reach the factory.
With the rebel strike force decimated, Thrawn informed Pryce that some rebel pilots may have survived their crash-landing. Rukh captured the pilot Secon Daree, and she congratulated him for his efforts. Upon learning that Hera Syndulla had crash-landed in the city and was missing, Pryce ordered a lockdown and her capture by any means necessary, even if it meant destroying every building. Syndulla was eventually captured with Rukh's assistance, and Pryce disdainfully commented on Syndulla's "small victory" before stunning her.

Pryce had the captured Hera Syndulla restrained in an interrogation chair in her office, where she sadistically tortured the rebel general with electrical shocks for her own amusement. When Grand Admiral Thrawn entered and inquired if Syndulla had confessed, Pryce remarked that she hadn't yet asked any questions. Thrawn then attempted a different approach, demonstrating his knowledge of Syndulla's family Kalikori, an artifact of immense sentimental value to her, but Hera remained defiant. Thrawn left Pryce to continue the interrogation. With a sinister smile, Pryce told her that she didn't appreciate art much and resumed torturing her. Syndulla still refused to divulge any information about the rebel fleet, so Pryce had a mind probe inject her with a truth serum. After a moment, Syndulla stated, "Kanan is here," but when Pryce turned to look out the window where the Twi'lek had been looking, she saw nothing. Deeming her delirious, Pryce left the office when Rukh requested a word with her, during which time Kanan Jarrus infiltrated the office and rescued Hera. Rukh pursued them while Pryce ordered Death Troopers to lock down the facility and scramble the gunships, with orders to eliminate the fugitives on sight.
Rukh failed to prevent their escape but informed Pryce that they were heading for the fuel depot. Pryce, clad in full combat armor, led a contingent of AT-AT walkers to the depot, where she saw Kanan and Hera about to board a stolen gunship. Determined to stop them, Pryce ordered the pilots to fire on the central fuel pod; when the pilot protested due to the valuable fuel, Pryce overruled him, stating that she had given him a direct order. The walker then fired on the fuel pod, triggering a chain reaction that destroyed the entire depot and killed Jarrus as he saved his friends.
In the aftermath of the depot's destruction, Pryce stood amidst the smoldering ruins and demanded a status report from an assistant, who informed her that while the gunship had escaped, the Jedi Kanan Jarrus had perished in the explosion. Elated by this news, Pryce dismissed her aide's concerns about the depot's loss, which had depleted their entire fuel surplus and halted production of the TIE Defenders. After confirming that only she and the officer knew about it, she ordered a grand parade to celebrate the victory over the rebels.
Unfortunately for her, Pryce's deception did not fool Grand Admiral Thrawn. Speaking with her from off-world, Thrawn demanded to know why she was throwing a parade despite having failed to capture Hera Syndulla. Pryce defended herself by presenting him with something she deemed even better than Hera: Kanan Jarrus' lightsaber. While this confirmed the Jedi's death, Thrawn proceeded to berate the governor for attempting to conceal the fact that she had destroyed the Empire's entire fuel supply on Lothal. In defeating Kanan Jarrus, Pryce had inadvertently achieved what the rebels had failed to do and compromised the Empire's Industrial Operations. Though Pryce attempted to defend her actions, Thrawn coldly cut her off and menacingly informed her that he would deal with her upon his return. Thrawn then ordered Rukh to eliminate the rebels once they revealed themselves, and the Noghri left the office, casting a sinister smile at Pryce as he did so.
Fearing execution, Pryce focused all her efforts on hunting and capturing the rebels before Thrawn's return to redeem herself to the Chiss, even threatening a lower-ranking officer with death. As the terrified officer left her office, another one burst in, informing her that someone was contacting her on a pre-Imperial frequency. Pryce allowed the transmission, finding herself face-to-face with her old enemy, Ryder Azadi. After a heated exchange, Azadi revealed his willingness to betray his rebel comrades, believing they were fighting a lost cause. Pryce expressed surprise at this revelation, admitting that she had never considered him cowardly. Realizing that she could redeem herself with such news, she demanded the coordinates of the rebel encampment before ending the transmission.
Pryce personally led a squadron of Imperial patrol transports to attack the rebel encampment, giving specific orders to capture Ezra alive. Following a fierce battle, Pryce ordered the Imperial forces to storm the rebels' stolen ore crawler. After the rebels mounted an unexpectedly strong resistance, she ordered its destruction. The crawler's destruction allowed for the swift capture of the remaining rebels, including Bridger. Pryce then disembarked from her transport to gloat over her victory, thanking Ryder for his assistance. However, Ryder's apparent betrayal had been a ruse to lure her from the safety of Capital City and capture her.
The rebels sprung their trap. The rebel freighter Ghost arrived and destroyed her transport, sending the governor and Rukh scrambling for cover. However, the rebels were still outnumbered and fled into a cave system, with Pryce ordering an immediate pursuit; Bridger was to be captured, but the others were to be killed. However, the Imperials were ambushed by a pack of loth-wolves, mythical beasts of Lothalian folklore summoned by Bridger. Pryce was terrified by the presence of the Loth-wolves, who easily overwhelmed the stormtroopers and Rukh. After tossing Rukh aside, a Loth-wolf targeted her, seizing her by the back of her chestplate. After the remaining stormtroopers surrendered, the wolf brought Pryce to Bridger, who desperately begged the youth not to let the wolf eat her before dropping her at Ryder's feet. Bridger then allowed former Governor Azadi to handcuff his successor.
In rebel captivity, Pryce remained scornful of their chances and was particularly venomous towards Kallus, expressing her disgust for his betrayal in favor of the rebellion. Brought before Ezra Bridger, she maintained her loyalty, stating that she would not help them, before Ezra set the white Loth-wolf on her. Bridger then gave her the choice of helping them liberate Lothal from the Empire or being devoured by the loth-wolf. Seeking to save herself, Pryce complied and provided the rebels with the clearance codes necessary to land on the executive landing pad of the Imperial Complex, a mobile Imperial Planetary Occupation Facility capable of space travel.
Under Kallus' watchful eye, Pryce transmitted the codes. Upon landing, the rebels fought several stormtroopers before seizing control of the Imperial Complex's command center. Pryce learned that the rebels planned to use Protocol 13 to lure all Imperial personnel on Lothal aboard the Imperial Complex and transport them into Lothal's upper atmosphere, where it would be destroyed. Before the rebels activated the Complex's thrusters, Thrawn returned aboard his Star Destroyer Chimaera. Despite Ezra's threats to destroy the Imperial Complex with the Imperial forces aboard, Thrawn pointed out that the rebels had merely moved his forces to a safe location, leaving him free to bomb Capital City without incurring Imperial casualties.

Under Thrawn's instruction, Rukh and the Imperial forces had disabled the planetary shield generators, leaving Capital City defenseless. Thrawn proceeded to bombard Capital City, prompting Ezra to surrender himself to Thrawn. However, the rebels managed to regain control of the Dome and reactivated the planetary shield to protect the city, killing Rukh in the process. In addition, Thrawn's entire blockade and fleet were subsequently annihilated by a pod of space-faring purrgil, who took Thrawn, Bridger, and the Chimaera with them into hyperspace. Determined to completely rid Lothal of the Empire, Sabine initiated the Imperial Complex's launch sequence, and the rebels prepared to depart. Azadi offered Pryce a chance to escape certain death, but she refused, stating that she would serve the Empire until the end. Once the Imperial Complex had reached sufficient altitude, Sabine initiated the self-destruct sequence. Pryce stood at attention on the command bridge and embraced her fate as the Dome exploded, finally liberating Lothal.

Arihnda Pryce possessed a strong desire for advancement and held a low opinion of her Lothalian heritage. She was the offspring of Talmoor and Elainye Pryce, who operated Pryce Mining, a modest family enterprise. Pryce assisted her parents in managing the company until they were forced out due to the schemes of Governor Ryder Azadi and Senator Domus Renking. She harbored resentment towards both men and vowed to exact revenge. While Pryce formed friendships with martial arts instructor Juahir Madras and advocate Driller MarDapp, she turned against them upon discovering that their advocacy group, Higher Skies, was spying on high-ranking Imperial officials and collaborating with the rebel insurgent known as Nightswan.
Pryce cultivated influential alliances with the Chiss strategist and Imperial Navy officer Thrawn and the Imperial Security Bureau Colonel Wullf Yularen. She secured the Governorship of Lothal by providing Grand Moff Tarkin with information about Higher Skies. As an added incentive, she revealed that Moff Ghadi was planning to use Higher Skies' illegally obtained information to plot against Tarkin. As Governor, Pryce settled scores with Azadi and Renking by orchestrating their political downfalls. Pryce aspired to make Lothal the center of Imperial power in the Outer Rim and was willing to seize farmland for the construction of factories, bases, and mines. Pryce could also be vindictive and refused to assist her former friend Juahir.
Pryce was not known to have any romantic relationships. While she had encountered several men who had attempted to befriend or romance her, these interactions did not evolve into relationships. Most of the people that she interacted with considered her to be a helper, champion or even a mother figure. Pryce thought that these perceptions would not be a good basis for a balanced emotional connection.
Despite being from Lothal, she had no desire to remain there and yearned for the allure of Coruscant. She betrayed her homeworld to the Emperor and allowed the Galactic Empire to establish Lothal as their local headquarters in the Lothal sector. She prioritized her own ambitions and career aspirations over the interests of the Lothalian people, a stark contrast to her deputy ruler, Maketh Tua, who genuinely cared for the people. She rarely visited Lothal and only returned to her homeworld because the planet had become a haven for rebels approximately two years before the Battle of Yavin. Pryce viewed the master tactician Grand Admiral Thrawn as a valuable asset in her campaign against the rebel presence in the Lothal sector.
Pryce deeply loved and cared for her parents, Talmoor and Elaiyne. When Agent Gudri suggested abandoning them, she killed him. To conceal her actions, she detonated his explosives, destroying the mine where the Batonn insurgents were holed up and causing numerous civilian casualties and the deaths of several Imperial soldiers sent to rescue her. Her actions earned her the contempt of her ally Yularen. Pryce later justified the high civilian casualties by claiming that her actions had eliminated the rebels in the Batonn sector. Pryce also ingratiated herself with Thrawn by encouraging him to take credit for the events at Batonn and using her political connections to secure him command of the Seventh Fleet.
She was also willing to torture the rebels Sabine Wren and Hera Syndulla in order to extract intelligence about the rebellion. Pryce smirked sadistically after witnessing the deliberate death of Morad Sumar in a speeder explosion. Despite her confident demeanor, Pryce was alarmed when Thrawn suspected the Rebellion had a mole within their ranks. When she suggested interrogating all Imperial personnel, Thrawn cautioned that this would only alert the spy and advocated for luring the saboteur into a trap.
Due to her trust for Agent Kallus, Pryce accepted his account that Lieutenant Yogar Lyste was the rebel spy known as Fulcrum. She believed that Lyste's accidental stunning of her and the use of his code cylinder to free the rebel operative Ezra were evidence of his guilt. While Pryce believed Lyste was guilty, Thrawn and Yularen realized that Kallus was the real Fulcrum and had framed Lyste. As a staunch Imperial loyalist, Pryce sought to elevate her standing by capturing the rogue Senator Mon Mothma. She deemed traveling through the Archeon Nebula too risky. Mothma considered Pryce untrustworthy. Pryce aimed to capture Mon Mothma alive so that Thrawn could interrogate her about the rebellion. Pryce's reliance on superior firepower and numbers proved misguided when the rebels outmaneuvered her by igniting the Archeon Nebula.
During a meeting with Thrawn, Admiral Konstantine, and Tarkin, Governor Pryce viewed a coordinated rebel assault as an unprecedented development. Lacking Thrawn's tactical and naval expertise, she failed to prevent Mandalorian rebels from destroying a second Imperial interdictor cruiser. She was also easily provoked when Kallus taunted her about her failure to protect Thrawn's fleet. Pryce ordered her men to throw him out of the airlock, but Kallus escaped and rejoined his rebel allies. Pryce was visibly displeased when the rebels escaped into hyperspace.

Pryce's character, driven by both fear and intense emotion, pushed her to suggest using a kill-switch to obliterate a stolen TIE/D Defender Elite. Thrawn, however, viewed it as a chance to assess the starfighter's potential. Pryce was adamant about leading the effort to reclaim the destroyed TIE/D Defender Elite and resented Thrawn's choice to dispatch the Noghri tracker Rukh to aid in the search. Unlike Thrawn, Pryce held little regard for her rebel adversaries and stunned Hera Syndulla, even after Rukh had already disarmed her.
As the rebels began to interfere with her schemes, Pryce interpreted these actions personally, letting her emotions cloud her judgment. She relied on her heart rather than her intellect, lacking Thrawn's superior intelligence, subtlety, and strategic acumen. Her obsession with eliminating the Spectres led her to destroy the Lothal City fuel depot. While her actions resulted in Kanan Jarrus's demise, Pryce also decimated the Imperial fuel reserves on Lothal, thereby jeopardizing Thrawn's TIE/D Defender project and bringing Imperial Industrial Operations to a complete standstill. Thrawn was furious with Pryce's lack of foresight. In an attempt to conceal her blunder from the rebels, Pryce orchestrated a parade to celebrate Jarrus's death. Despite her attempts, the rebels eventually uncovered her deception.
Driven by a desire to eliminate the Lothal insurgents and regain Thrawn's favor, Pryce fell victim to Ryder Azadi's staged betrayal of his rebel allies. Pryce also harbored a fear of loth-wolves, and when one held her in its jaws while she attempted to capture Bridger, Arihnda desperately pleaded with her fellow Lothalian, begging him to prevent the wolves from devouring her. Her self-preservation instinct led her to provide the rebels with the necessary clearance codes to access the Lothal Imperial Complex. This allowed the rebels to lure the entire Imperial garrison back to the Imperial Complex under Protocol 13 and detonate the base. Pryce's loyalty to the Empire led her to decline Ryder's offer of escape. Pryce made the decision to die aboard the Imperial Complex, a symbolic act demonstrating her unwavering devotion to the Empire.

Unlike some other Imperial officials occupying high-level positions, Arihnda Pryce distinguished herself as a skilled hand-to-hand fighter, having undergone martial arts training, and was prepared to engage in physical combat when necessary. Following an incident with thugs on Coruscant, Pryce refined her combat abilities under the guidance of her friend Juahir and bodyguard Ottlis Dos. During the Batonn insurgency, Pryce successfully defended herself against ISB Agent Gudry, ultimately killing him when he threatened her parents. She also possessed technical expertise, knowing how to use communications equipment and explosives. Additionally, Pryce killed a Batonn insurgent guard and concealed his death by detonating a nearby bulldozer.
On another occasion, she opted to engage the Mandalorian weapons expert Sabine Wren in a physical altercation instead of calling for reinforcements or retreating, as most other officers would have done. Although Pryce managed to land a few blows, her skills were no match for a Mandalorian. Wren secured victory by knocking Pryce into an interrogation table and electrocuting her. Governor Pryce later managed to hold her own against Rex in unarmed combat. However, victory was snatched from her grasp when Lieutenant Lyste mistakenly stunned her.
Pryce also demonstrated exceptional skill in gathering information discreetly. While employed by the High Skies Advocacy group, she secretly collected data on numerous high-ranking Imperial politicians, which she used for her own schemes and those of others. Moreover, she played a direct and indirect role in resolving various 'issues' that arose during Thrawn's ascent through the ranks, as Thrawn, while undoubtedly a brilliant tactician, lacked political acumen.
Pryce also knew how to handle an RK-3 blaster pistol and once incapacitated an unarmed Hera Syndulla with a stun blast.

The first mention of Arihnda Pryce occurred in HoloNet News Special Report: Lothal Jobless Rates Hit All-time Low, which was the third in a series of in-universe HoloNet News report videos published on holonetnews.com to coincide with the Star Wars Rebels television series before its first season in 2014. Pryce made her debut appearance in the junior novel Servants of the Empire: Edge of the Galaxy, the initial installment in a series authored by Jason Fry featuring Zare Leonis, a character from Rebels. Pryce was mentioned several times during Rebels's first season and throughout the remaining Servants of the Empire books, but she had yet to be visually depicted. It wasn't until the second day of 2016's Celebration Europe, during the presentation of the first trailer for Rebels's third season, that Pryce's physical appearance in the series was revealed. Mary Elizabeth McGlynn provided the voice for Pryce, who appeared in the first episode of Rebels's third season, Star Wars Rebels: Steps Into Shadow. McGlynn stated that she finds the character "kind of despicable," but nevertheless admires her persistence. She elaborated that it was fascinating giving voice to a woman who is desperate for power, but ineffective at accomplishing her goals, from capturing the rebels to controlling Thrawn until she reaches a desperation to achieve her goal at any cost.
Pryce held the position of tritagonist in Timothy Zahn's 2017 novel Thrawn, which delved into her background and personality prior to her appointment as Governor of Lothal. The novel also served as a rebooted canonical origin story for Thrawn, who had previously appeared in several Legends works, including The Thrawn Trilogy.
In some of the promotional material for Star Wars Rebels Season Three, Pryce's rank insignia plaque displayed six red squares over six blue, a configuration commonly used in canon to denote an admiral. Although she was given the correct insignia for a governor (six blue over three red and three yellow) in the actual episodes, the incorrect insignia was still used on the Star Wars Rebels: Complete Season Three cover.
