Oovo 4

Oovo 4, which can also be called Oovo Four, functioned as a highly secured prison moon. Its location was in space that was filled with asteroids. The guarding of this moon was uniquely handled by the Firespray-31-class patrol and attack craft, as a special craft design was required to effectively protect it.

During the era of the Galactic Republic, specifically before 32 BBY, the notorious Mandalorian bounty hunter named Jango Fett managed to steal the Firespray-31 ship, known as Slave I, directly from Oovo 4.

Later, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, Oovo 4 served as the location for the Oovo Four detention center. After Juahir Madras, a bodyguard instructor working at the Yinchom Dojo on the planet of Coruscant, was placed under arrest for persuading her students to attack and even murder several senators within the Imperial Senate whom they were supposed to protect, she found herself imprisoned within this detention center. While incarcerated, Madras managed to dispatch a minimum of twenty communications to her associate, Arihnda Pryce, who was the governor governing the planet Lothal.

Around 9 ABY, the New Republic had control over Oovo 4. Records indicated that Thene Kross, a Zabrak, received a sentence of thirty years on Oovo 4 because of grand theft involving a starship and resisting lawful arrest.

History

Before 32 BBY, the Mandalorian bounty hunter Jango Fett perpetrated the theft of a Firespray-31 from Oovo 4, later naming it Slave I. Subsequently, during the reign of the Galactic Empire, this moon became the site of the Oovo Four detention center. Juahir Madras, a bodyguard instructor, was arrested after she incited her trainees to commit assault and murder against Imperial Senators that they were assigned to safeguard. Consequently, she was imprisoned at the detention center. While serving her sentence, Madras managed to dispatch at least twenty communications to her friend Arihnda Pryce, who was the Governor of the planet Lothal.

Around five years following the Battle of Endor, the New Republic assumed control over Oovo 4. Records show that the Zabrak Thene Kross received a thirty years sentence on the moon for the crimes of starships theft and resisting arrest.

Behind the scenes

The moon's identification was later provided in the 2015 reference book titled Star Wars: Absolutely Everything You Need to Know. In the 2017 novel Thrawn, penned by Timothy Zahn, it was alternatively referenced as Oovo Four. Oovo 4 made its original appearance within the Star Wars Legends continuity through Star Wars: Episode I Racer, a video game developed by LucasArts and released in 1999.
