The P1 functioned as a Sphyrna-class Hammerhead corvette within the fleet of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. Prior to the events of the Galactic Civil War, Senator Bail Organa dispatched the [ship](/article/starship], alongside two other Hammerheads known as the P2 and P3, to bolster Commander Jun Sato's rebel unit. During a raid targeting the planet Lothal, the Spectres, a sub-unit of Sato's forces, commandeered all three vessels. As a component of Phoenix Cell, it was among the few vessels that survived the devastating Battle of Atollon, where its sister ship, the P2, was obliterated by the Galactic Empire, along with numerous other ships.
The initial appearance of the P1 occurred in the Star Wars Rebels TV series episode "A Princess on Lothal," which served as the mid-season premiere for the second season and was broadcast on Disney XD on January 20, 2016. Its identification, along with the Hammerhead corvettes P2 and P3, was first established in the official episode guide published on StarWars.com. Subsequently, in Star Wars: The Rebel Files, the three corvettes featured in "A Princess on Lothal" were identified by the names Lightmaker, Duchess Senna, and Amity's Arrow.
Aside from the absence of the Aurebesh characters "P1" on the physical model used in the show, the markings present on the P1 are consistent with those of the Sphyrna-class corvette showcased in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, the Anthology film released in late 2016. The film's novelization also referred to this corvette as the Lightmaker. Nevertheless, no official source has confirmed any direct link between the three corvettes named in The Rebel Files and the three corvettes depicted in "A Princess on Lothal" to this day.
