Pabu island, often shortened to just Pabu, was a secluded island found on the tropical planet Pabu. Shep Hazard served as its mayor, and the island was primarily populated by refugees who had fled the Clone Wars. Despite its limited resources, Pabu offered a welcoming environment for refugees, completely devoid of the influence of the Galactic Empire. Phee Genoa considered it her "home away from home."
The island was occasionally hit by sea surges. Consequently, a substantial wall was erected around Upper Pabu for protection. However, as more inhabitants arrived over the years, Pabu expanded to include Lower Pabu.
Upper Pabu was home to the Archium, a repository for rescued artifacts from across the galaxy. It also housed the early warning system, which was used to warn the residents of an incoming sea surge. A large landing pad was located just outside the Archium, at the island's highest point.
By approximately 18 BBY, a significant sea surge had not occurred in almost three decades. However, in that year, the island experienced a series of tremors, culminating in a major surge. The surge caused widespread damage to Lower Pabu; however, Clone Force 99 helped all of the residents escape to the safety of Upper Pabu.
Despite its isolation, Clone Force 99 was discovered on Pabu on several occasions. The Force-Sensitive Outcast Asajj Ventress located them there, intending to assess Omega's capacity to connect with the Force. Later, the clone assassin CX-2 tracked the clones to Pabu after obtaining data from Genoa's starship, the Providence, and destroyed their ship, the Marauder. An Imperial division soon arrived with the intention of capturing Omega, and after devastating portions of the island community, they succeeded in capturing the young clone and departing.
