A saberdart from Kamino
A toxic dart, alternatively called a poison dart, was a specific type of projectile. These darts, designed to deliver poisons, were launched from needle dart guns. A particular type, the Kamino saberdart originating from the world of Kamino, could be identified by the unique markings along its sides. These Kamino saberdarts contained a mixture of Malkite themfar and Fex-M3. Notably, the bounty hunter Jango Fett once employed a Kamino saberdart in the assassination of Zam Wesell. Furthermore, the assassin droid IG-88 was known to carry poison darts as part of its arsenal.
During a quest for vengeance against her former Sith Master, Count Dooku, Asajj Ventress utilized a Dathomirian poison dart. Her scheme involved using this specialized dart, characterized by its circular shape, retractable wings, and needle, to dull Dooku's senses. This would then allow her Nightsister allies, Naa'leth and Karis, to assist in his demise. However, Dooku's strength proved too great, even with the poison's effects. On the planet Kenari, the people there used poison darts as weapons against their adversaries. In the year 5 BBY, the leader of a group of warrior children was killed by a survivor from a Republican starship crash, prompting the children to retaliate by firing numerous poison darts at the survivor in order to avenge their fallen leader.
The assassin known as Ochi utilized a sniper rifle to fire a poison dart coated with Yurfloo. This dart only grazed the neck of Major Erstin Deez, a member of the Emperor's Royal Guard. Sometime later, Deez and his fellow guards, who were poisoned with Ziroxin-12, stood before Palpatine and Grand Vizier Mas Amedda in Palpatine's throne room. To Amedda's surprise, they all collapsed and died suddenly due to the effects of the poison.
