The Royal Command Bunker, constructed for the King of Mon Cala, was situated on the planet of Mon Cala. In the year 18 BBY, Governor Wilhuff Tarkin requested that King Lee-Char be captured to expedite the Galactic Empire's invasion of Mon Cala. Consequently, Darth Vader, the Dark Lord of the Sith, journeyed to the bunker with the purpose of apprehending the king. The Sith Lord subsequently eliminated the king's guards and successfully captured Lee-Char. Following this, Tarkin instructed Vader to escort Lee-Char to a window so that the king could witness the impending orbital bombardment being unleashed upon Mon Cala.
Subsequently, Ferren Barr, a former Jedi Padawan, confronted Vader. In a lightsaber duel, the Sith Lord slew Barr, causing Lee-Char to concede defeat to Tarkin. After Barr's death, an Imperial shuttle extracted Vader and the king from the bunker. The bunker featured grey colored walls, a holotable positioned in the center of the space, and a sizable window above.
The Royal Command Bunker made its debut in the seventeenth issue of the Star Wars: Darth Vader comic series from 2017. Charles Soule penned the issue, Giuseppe Camuncoli provided the illustrations, and Marvel Comics published it on June 13, 2018.
