The Sacred Order of Ramulus, also referred to as the Sacred Ramulus, represented a religious group venerated by the Ithorian species originating from the planet of Ithor. Praster Ommlen, an Ottegan gunrunner, abandoned his criminal past to embrace this sect, and approximately thirty years following the Battle of Endor, he dedicated time at Maz Kanata's castle on Takodana, providing spiritual counsel to fellow criminals.
The initial mention of the Sacred Ramulus occurred in Star Wars: The Force Awakens: The Visual Dictionary, a reference work authored by Pablo Hidalgo and published in 2015. It also makes an appearance in LEGO Star Wars: The Force Awakens, a non-canon video game released in 2016. The game identifies the group as the Sacred Order of Ramulus and features a bonus mission centered around the Order.
Within the bonus mission, Kylo Ren spearheaded a First Order attack on [Arthon](/article/arthon], the peaceful world of the Ottegans, with the goal of interrogating the Ottegan Leader of the Sacred Order of Ramulus to uncover the whereabouts of Lor San Tekka. While Resistance forces, commanded by Gial Ackbar, evacuated the Ottegan enclave, the First Order triumphed over the Resistance and Ottegan defenders. Ren successfully extracted the location of San Tekka from the Ottegan Leader before leaving the Arthon settlement in ruins. As Kylo Ren and Captain Phasma advanced towards him, the Ottegan Leader condemned their assault on the peaceful Sacred Order sect as blasphemous, asserting that their endeavors were doomed to fail, mirroring the fate of Darth Vader.
In the non-canon video game LEGO Star Wars: Castaways, released in 2021, the Sacred Order of Ramulus had constructed the Observatory, a repository of knowledge and wisdom from across the galaxy, curated by the Order's scholars. TU-TOR, the guardian droid of the Island, protected it.
