Zonama Sekot
Zonama Sekot, known in the Ferroan language as "World of Body and Mind" and designated M-Eighteen by Chiss expeditions, existed as a sentient living planet wandering in the Unknown Regions. The planet itself was referred to as Zonama, while the living organism inhabiting it was called Sekot. Following the conclusion of their campaign of conquest in the galaxy, it became the adopted homeworld for the extra-galactic Yuuzhan Vong.
Originating from a seed of Yuuzhan'tar, the Yuuzhan Vong's original sentient living world that met its end during the ages of conflict in a far-off galaxy, was Zonama Sekot. It once resided in the Tingel Arm of the Outer Rim Territories before vanishing into the Unknown Regions.
Description
Unlike other worlds, Zonama Sekot was distinctly unique. A pearl-white area marked its north polar region, encircled by a full hemisphere of lush tropical jungles. The southern hemisphere was obscured by dense, silvery clouds. Along the equator, there were various rivers, lakes, and small seas. The edge of the southern hemisphere was characterized by elegant wisps of wind that frequently broke away to form swirling storms.
History
The original Yuuzhan Vong homeworld, Yuuzhan'tar, destroyed during the Cremlevian War, seeded Zonama Sekot.
The first inhabitants of Zonama Sekot were dark-haired humanoid Ferroan colonists and red-skinned Langhesi colonists, governed by Magisters. The Ferroans subscribed to the Potentium understanding of the Force. The Langhesi and Ferroans established settlements on the planet in 89 BBY.

During the era of the Galactic Republic, Zonama Sekot gained a reputation as the source of the fastest ships in the galaxy. Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi and his Padawan, Anakin Skywalker, journeyed there to locate fellow Jedi Vergere and acquire one of the planet's living ships. Anakin established a connection with a record number of twelve seed-partners, while Obi-Wan formed a bond with three more. Despite being attacked by the Yuuzhan Vong (32 BBY–30 BBY, Zonama Sekot successfully defended itself. Later, Wilhuff Tarkin, then a Republic political figure and commander of the security forces, declared war against the living world and attacked it in 29 BBY. Zonama Sekot then revealed its hyperdrive system, constructed by the Langhesi, and fled into the Unknown Regions.
In subsequent years, tales of the "rogue planet" that once produced living ships spread throughout the Outer Rim.
Much later, during the Yuuzhan Vong War, Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade Skywalker, Jacen Solo, R2-D2, and other Jedi traveled to Zonama Sekot, which held the forgotten secrets of the galaxy's invaders. Recognizing echoes of Anakin Skywalker in Luke and Jacen, Sekot permitted them to land and put them to the test. Sekot proposed the complete annihilation of the Yuuzhan Vong, but both Luke and Jacen declined. Nonetheless, Sekot resolved to assist them in a different manner. Later, Nom Anor, disguised as Yu'shaa, the leader of the underground Jeedai heretics, unsuccessfully attempted to destroy the living world.
Zonama Sekot journeyed to Yuuzhan Vong-occupied Coruscant, renamed Yuuzhan'tar, and brokered a peace between the Yuuzhan Vong and the Galactic Alliance. Converted and surrendering Yuuzhan Vong began to regard Zonama as their home, establishing numerous communities. One such settlement was La'okio, designed as an experiment to dismantle the divisions between Yuuzhan Vong castes by integrating individuals into mixed groups.
Reh'mwa, a leader of the Bothan ar'krai against the Yuuzhan Vong, equipped the Avengeance for its search for Zonama Sekot in the Unknown Regions. Following the war, Luke Skywalker convened a meeting on the planet to clarify the role of the Jedi in the post-war galaxy.
As the Sith–Imperial War began, it retreated deeper into the Unknown Regions, abandoning the Yuuzhan Vong who remained in the galaxy as part of the Ossus Project. As of 130 ABY, it was situated in the Unknown Regions, approximately equidistant between Lwhekk and Lehon.
Behind the scenes
In the initial draft of The New Jedi Order: Force Heretic III: Reunion, Zonama Sekot was intended to have a young, sentient moon called "Zonama X", which would have persuaded its parent world to join the fight against the Yuuzhan Vong.
