Spotchka, which is also referred to as krill spotchka, was a drink that could be made using the creatures called krill. It was indigenous to Sorgan, where the local farmers in a secluded farming community brewed it. The Klatooinian raiders who frequently raided the village would steal the krill from the farmers and then produce their own variant of spotchka.
Spotchka, alternatively known as krill spotchka, was a blue beverage that was available throughout the galaxy. It was partly composed of farmed creatures known as krill. Spotchka could also undergo extended aging to enhance its flavors and aromas.
During the year 3 ABY, the criminal syndicate Crimson Dawn contracted the scoundrel Kay Vess to pilfer a file labeled "SK01" from a fortress within their Pyke Syndicate district on Mirogana, the capital city located on the outer rim moon of Toshara. Upon accessing the file, Vess realized it was simply a recipe for spotchka. Also during that year, Tye Snowduster sold aged spotchka bottles for 360 credits each on the casino cruiser Morenia.
A village on the planet of Sorgan cultivated krill for use in the production of spotchka. However, in 9 ABY, Klatooinian raiders launched attacks on the village, stealing their krill. They then used the stolen krill to brew their own spotchka at their outpost. As a result, the village enlisted the help of Din Djarin, a Mandalorian bounty hunter, and Carasynthia Dune, a former shock trooper, to put an end to the raider's assaults. One evening, the pair infiltrated the Klatooinian outpost and ambushed one of the raiders as they were drinking spotchka. During the ensuing fight with more raiders, one was drowned in a vat of spotchka.
The cantina in Mos Pelgo on Tatooine, run by a Weequay bartender, offered spotchka, which Cobb Vanth ordered for himself and Din Djarin while the latter was searching for other Mandalorians.
After the rescue of Grogu, Djarin's foundling, from Gideon's Imperial remnant, Fennec Shand, an elite assassin, consumed spotchka from a bottle after she and the bounty hunter Boba Fett seized control of Jabba's Palace from Bib Fortuna.
Spotchka made its initial appearance in Chapter 4 of The Mandalorian, a television series created by Jon Favreau for Disney+ in 2019, which was broadcast on November 29 of that year.
