Flashpoint is the second story arc found within the Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic comic book series. This story spans issues 7, 8, and 10.
Seeking provisions, the crew of The Last Resort arrives on the planet Vanquo. There, they deceive the local miners by making them think that Mandalorians are about to invade. Ironically, after the camp is deserted, the Mandalorians genuinely assault Vanquo and abduct Jarael, who was posing as Jedi Master Q'Anilia. During Jarael's abduction, the Mandalorian commander Rohlan Dyre attempts to commandeer The Last Resort, but Zayne Carrick, Gryph, and Camper capture him instead. As the Mandalorians engage in a space battle against Captain Saul Karath, the captured Rohlan consents to navigate The Last Resort to Flashpoint Station. At Flashpoint Station, the Mandalorian scientist Demagol is conducting experiments on Jedi, including Squint, and it is also where Jarael (mistaken for a Jedi) was taken.
Aided by Rohlan, Zayne infiltrates Flashpoint and disguises himself as the scientist Demagol. He then collaborates with Gryph, who is disguised as a Republic admiral, to deceive the Mandalorians into believing that the Republic is launching an assault, and that the captured Republic starships are rigged with explosives. Consequently, the Mandalorians are compelled to perform a rapid evacuation, abandoning the Republic vessels. Squint, Jarael, the other captured Jedi, and the captured Demagol then depart for Coruscant. Unbeknownst to everyone, Rohlan secretly boards The Last Resort as a stowaway.
