Trandoshan funk was a type of music, taking its title from the reptillian Trandoshan species. During 9 BBY, the luxury yacht _Stinger Mantis's crew journeyed from Tanalorr to Koboh, a planet located in the Outer Rim Territories. Following the young recruit Kata Akuna's remark about it being her inaugural time on the planet, Cal Kestis, a Jedi Knight, mentioned that their lodging would be Pyloon's Saloon, the cantina owned by pilot Greez Dritus. After Merrin, a Nightsister and fellow crew member, verified that the cantina's musicians accepted requests, Akuna inquired if they played Trandoshan funk, stating it was her preferred musical genre.
The video game Star Wars Jedi: Survivor, created by Respawn Entertainment in 2023, was the first instance Trandoshan funk was brought up.
