Ulbik Tan

During 0 ABY, Ulbik Tan, a criminal, joined forces with Doctor Chelli Aphra, a rogue archaeologist, in a quest to retrieve an artifact hidden below the surface of the Cosmatanic Steppes. The Steppes are a mantle layer suspended above a gas giant situated in the Outer Rim Territories. 0-0-0, Aphra's assassin droid companion, foresaw Tan's treachery, which materialized when Tan abandoned the rogue archaeologist to her apparent death. Tan then discovered the relic within the remains of a large group in a cave beneath the mantle's surface. Extracting the artifact from the remains, he examined it, only to trigger the reactivation of a massive droid.

Tan fled as the droid fired a laser at him. The criminal managed to escape on his speeder, heading for the cave's exit. He also threw three grenades at the droid, destroying it, which flung him and his speeder out of the cave's mouth. Emerging unharmed, Tan removed his helmet and stood up, noting how close he had come to dying. However, Aphra, having survived Tan's betrayal, interrupted and fatally shot the criminal. The rogue archaeologist retrieved the relic from her betrayer's body and departed on his speeder, leaving Tan's lifeless body in the grasslands of the Cosmatanic Steppes.

Aphra returned to 0-0-0 and the rest of her companions, recounting how her unsuccessful partnership with Tan had ended. Despite some initial difficulties, the relic, initially obtained by the criminal, was auctioned through the Archaeological Association on the Cosmatanic Steppes. This earned the rogue archaeologist a sum of credits. While being tortured by Bor Ifriem, a Mairan, in 3 ABY, Aphra experienced visions of figures from her past, including Tan.

Ulbik Tan was a human male characterized by his light complexion and black hair.

Tan was clad in gray clothing, overlaid with gray armor. His gray helmet was distinguished by two orange [eye](/article/eye] apertures. The criminal also carried a red backpack and wore a face covering.
