As part of the Galactic Empire's Imperial Navy, a dreadnought was one of the thirteen Super Star Destroyers until the Battle of Endor occurred in 4 ABY. However, the New Republic had captured it by 5 ABY over Kuat, incorporating it into their fleet.
During the Galactic Civil War, the dreadnought was among the thirteen Super Star Destroyers of the Galactic Empire, a designation applied to various classes of Imperial capital ships. Consequently, it possessed both a propulsion system and a comprehensive array of weapons.
Originally, this dreadnought was part of the thirteen Super Star Destroyers serving the Empire before the Battle of Endor in 4 ABY. The Imperial forces were fragmented by the Empire's defeat at Endor, which included the death of the Emperor and the destruction of the second Death Star, while the victorious Rebel Alliance evolved into the New Republic.
Following the conflict, the dreadnought sent tracking information to the Hall of Imperial Register located on the Imperial planet of Coruscant. This transmission facilitated a black box recording of data, enabling the Empire to determine the ship's fate if it were destroyed, captured, or surrendered. Indeed, by 5 ABY, the New Republic had captured the dreadnought while it was being repaired at the Imperial planet Kuat, subsequently integrating it into their fleet.
Later, Grand Admiral Rae Sloane of the Executor-class Star Dreadnought Ravager went to Coruscant to investigate Gallius Rax, her enigmatic superior. While at the Hall of Imperial Register, Sloane learned that eleven of the Empire's thirteen Super Star Destroyers, including the dreadnought, had been lost, leaving only the Ravager and the Eclipse remaining.
The dreadnought received a mention in Aftermath: Life Debt, the second novel of Star Wars: The Aftermath Trilogy, penned by Chuck Wendig and published in 2016.
