Unox, situated in the Outer Rim Territories, was an extraterrestrial body notable for housing a disused spice extraction facility. The archaeologist turned rogue, Doctor Chelli Aphra, along with her young charge Vulaada Klam, made a stop at Unox before their infiltration of the Red Mist Slinani Migration Shrine. During this visit, Aphra left Klam's qaberworm companion on Unox. Upon their return, with the Farkiller (a weapon they pilfered) in tow, Aphra found herself captured by Strike Team Misericorde of the Rebel Alliance, under the command of Captain Magna Tolvan.
Located within the Outer Rim Territories, Unox presented as a rocky, terrestrial astronomical body. Geysers dotted its surface, venting steam into the atmosphere. This atmosphere was breathable for various species, notably humans. The sky above Unox appeared yellow when viewed from its surface.
At one point in its history, a spice mining operation was established on Unox to harvest spice. However, this facility was eventually shut down and abandoned. In the year 3 ABY, Chelli Aphra, the rogue archaeologist, and Vulaada Klam, her young ward, paused at Unox prior to their infiltration mission targeting the Red Mist Slinani Migration Shrine. Before leaving for Red Mist aboard her starship, the Ark Angel, Aphra left Klam's qaberworm, named Gurtyl, on the surface.
Following the successful completion of their heist, Aphra and Klam made their way back to Unox to retrieve Gurtyl. Unbeknownst to them, Strike Team Misericorde of the Rebel Alliance had tracked them to Unox with the intention of seizing the Farkiller. This ancient weapon, powered by a lightsaber, had been discovered by Aphra in Red Mist and once belonged to Oo'ob, a Jedi apostate. Upon landing on Unox, Captain Magna Tolvan, leader of Extraction Team Misericorde, incapacitated Aphra and transported both her and Klam to a temporary Rebel Alliance base situated on the space station known as Trading Post Sh'ung-tesk.
Unox made its debut appearance in Doctor Aphra (2016) 32, a comic book penned by Simon Spurrier with illustrations by Wilton Santos and [Caspar Wijngaard]. It was released by Marvel Comics on May 8, 2019.
