Throughout the Galactic Civil War, the X-8 Night Sniper saw use by both the forces of the Galactic Empire and the Alliance to Restore the Republic.
Latts Razzi and C-21 Highsinger, both bounty hunters, were known to employ these pistols during the Clone Wars. On a Mission to Utapau, Jedi Knight Anakin Skywalker wielded a pair of X-8 Night Snipers in combat against Sugi arms dealers. Furthermore, during his tenure as a smuggler, Lando Calrissian also utilized an X-8 Night Sniper in fighting Azmorigan, a crime boss, and his henchmen on the planet of Lothal. He continued its use as a general for both the Rebel Alliance and the subsequent New Republic.
