Azmorigan, a Jablogian male, was a criminal mastermind who conducted illicit operations in the Outer Rim Territories approximately four years prior to the Battle of Yavin. In one instance, the "galactic entrepreneur" Lando Calrissian cleverly manipulated him into trading a puffer pig in exchange for the Twi'lek captain Hera Syndulla. However, Hera managed to escape, rejoining Lando and her rebel crew aboard their vessel, the Ghost. Consumed by rage, Azmorigan pursued Calrissian and his rebel cohorts to Lothal, seeking retribution against Calrissian. Nevertheless, the rebels successfully repelled Azmorigan and his henchmen, compelling him to retreat.
Subsequently, Azmorigan acquired five power generators from the Devaronian crime lord Cikatro Vizago, arranging a meeting on Nixus Hub 218. However, the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka commandeered Vizago's ship, the Broken Horn. Accompanied by the rebels Ezra Bridger and Chopper, Hondo journeyed to Nixus, only to be captured by Azmorigan and his underlings. Eager to settle his grievances with both Hondo and Ezra, Azmorigan plotted to launch them into space using a loading dolly. Yet, Chopper thwarted his scheme by assaulting his henchmen, triggering a chaotic scene that enabled Ezra and Hondo to break free and reverse the situation. Azmorigan and his remaining henchmen fled, the criminal leader also losing his credits.
Despite previous conflicts with Hondo and the Spectres, he ultimately allied himself with them to plunder treasure from an Imperial class four container transport. Azmorigan and Hondo were driven purely by financial incentives but persuaded the rebels to assist them by highlighting the presence of proton bombs on board the ship. Following a perilous mission, Azmorigan, Hondo, and the Spectres achieved their objectives.

Born on [Nar Shaddaa](/article/nar_shaddaa], Azmorigan, a Jablogian, established himself as a criminal kingpin operating within the Outer Rim Territories, particularly near the planet Lothal. As the owner of a C-ROC Gozanti-class light cruiser named Merchant One, he roamed as a treacherous marauder in pursuit of the most lucrative opportunities. He commanded a retinue of masked minions and maintained a known association with the Devaronian crime lord Cikatro Vizago. In 4 BBY, Azmorigan engaged in business with the galactic entrepreneur Lando Calrissian, bartering a puffer pig for the Twi'lek pilot Hera Syndulla. Syndulla, however, outwitted Azmorigan, incapacitating him and his men. She made her escape from the criminals' ship via an escape pod and returned to her own ship, the Ghost, where she rejoined Calrissian and her rebel crew.
Seeking revenge, Azmorigan tracked Syndulla and Calrissian to a plot of land Calrissian had acquired from Vizago, demanding the return of both the Twi'lek and the pig, along with the Ghost and its crew. Upon the rebel crew's refusal, Azmorigan and his men launched an assault, igniting a fierce gunfight. During the skirmish, Azmorigan's henchmen were overwhelmed by the crew of the Ghost, suffering numerous casualties. At the height of the conflict, Azmorigan seized the Lasat rebel Garazeb Orrelios as a hostage, offering to spare him if the rebels surrendered Calrissian. However, the astromech droid Chopper retaliated by firing the Ghost's turret cannon, knocking him to the ground. Now at the mercy of the rebels, Azmorigan accepted Syndulla's ultimatum to vacate Calrissian's compound. He and his two remaining henchmen vanished into the night.
Later that year, Azmorigan placed an order with Cikatro Vizago for a shipment of five power generators. The two gangsters scheduled a rendezvous on the frigid planet of Nixus. However, en route, Vizago was subdued and imprisoned aboard his own ship, the Broken Horn, by the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka. Subsequently, Ohnaka was joined by the rebels Ezra Bridger and Chopper, who had previously encountered Azmorigan during an earlier escapade with Calrissian. Upon their arrival at Nixus, Azmorigan took Ohnaka and Ezra captive, distrusting their appearance without Vizago, possibly suspecting they intended to double-cross Vizago if the opportunity arose. Azmorigan was aware of the Rang Clan's bounty on Ohnaka's head and recognized Ezra as a member of the rebel group that had aided Calrissian.
Azmorigan instructed his men to load Ezra and Ohnaka onto a loading dolly, intending to jettison them into space. He reveled in the opportunity to settle his score with Ezra, eliminate Ohnaka, and seize their generators. However, Chopper retaliated by attacking him with the fifth crate, toppling his men. During the ensuing blaster battle, Azmorigan opened fire on Chopper. Capitalizing on the chaos, Ezra broke free and utilized his lightsaber to fire stun shots at the henchmen. Chopper also joined the fray, firing two blasters at Azmorigan and pilfering his credits. After rescuing Ohnaka, Ezra, Chopper, and the pirate escaped into space aboard the Broken Horn.

In 2 BBY, Azmorigan obtained the flight plan and manifest for an Imperial class four container transport traveling near the planet Wynkahthu. He discovered that the transport was carrying proton bombs and treasure looted from worlds conquered by the Empire. Azmorigan forged an agreement with Hondo to raid the cargo ship. Hondo and his Ugnaught crew incapacitated the ship using ion mines. However, the ship drifted into the turbulent upper atmosphere of Wynkahthu. After losing the majority of his Ugnaught crew, save for Melch, Hondo enlisted the assistance of the Lothal rebel cell.
Upon boarding the rebels' ship, the Ghost, Azmorigan received a hostile reception from the Spectres, particularly Hera, who remembered him as the "bantha fodder" who had purchased her from Lando. Azmorigan retorted that she was the feisty one who had struck him with a tray and asserted that he still technically "owned" her. The Spectres, at Ezra's urging, agreed to support Hondo's plan after learning of the presence of proton bombs on the container transport, a resource desperately needed by the rebellion. The rebels consented to take the bombs, while Hondo and Azmorigan agreed to divide the treasures amongst themselves.
Due to his portly physique, Azmorigan struggled to descend the stairs leading to the Ghost's cargo bay. Hondo attempted to dissuade his partner, claiming he was frail. However, Azmorigan threatened to halt the recovery mission if he was excluded from the recovery team. The rebels leaped onto the hull of the cargo ship and gained entry through a manhole. Inside, Azmorigan, Hondo, and the rebels encountered an enraged Melch, who attacked Hondo for abandoning him. At the insistence of the rebel team's leader, Zeb, Hondo confessed to an unsuccessful attempt to board the cargo ship.
Subsequently, Azmorigan, Hondo, and the rebels located the cargo bay. While Azmorigan and Hondo helped themselves to the loot, the rebels employed the ship's grappling guns to secure tow cables to the Ghost. They then commenced loading the proton bombs onto their ship. While the rebels were occupied with loading, Azmorigan was confronted by a DT-series sentry droid, which had been reactivated when the rebels' astromech droid Chopper restored power to the ship's power plant. He was confined to the ship's brig. When Zeb went to find him, he too was captured and stunned by the droid.
Ezra and Chopper liberated Azmorigan and Zeb from the brig. Together, the four returned to the cargo bay, only to encounter the sentry droid. Despite Zeb's instructions to remain concealed, Azmorigan disabled the droid with Bridger's blaster, loudly proclaiming himself a "hero." However, his actions activated the four remaining sentry droids, which pursued the rebels, Hondo, and Azmorigan. While the rebels engaged the sentry droids, Azmorigan and Hondo raced back to the Ghost on their treasure chests. The rebels and their confederates evaded the droids before the cargo ship crashed into the vortex and exploded.
Once aboard the Ghost, Azmorigan and Hondo squabbled over their treasure chests, only to discover that Melch had smuggled himself aboard one of them. At Hera's insistence, Azmorigan, Hondo, and Melch returned to Hondo's stolen Imperial landing craft with their loot.

Azmorigan exhibited extreme laziness, only engaging in walking when absolutely necessary. He possessed a strong fondness for eating, considering it one of his favorite activities, and relied on a large contingent of men to perform tasks for him. Furthermore, he was characterized by impatience, a volatile temper, and a tendency to be easily deceived. As a criminal leader, Azmorigan harbored vindictive and unforgiving sentiments toward those who had wronged him. In one instance, he and his henchmen invaded Calrissian's compound on Lothal, attempting to assassinate him after Calrissian had defrauded him. On another occasion, Azmorigan ordered the attempted murders of the Weequay pirate Hondo Ohnaka and the rebel [Ezra Bridger](/article/ezra_bridger], as both had previously wronged him.
Azmorigan possessed a weakness for the female gender, a characteristic exploited by Lando Calrissian during his scheme to acquire a puffer pig, in which he sold the rebel Hera Syndulla to the lustful Azmorigan. Azmorigan criticized Syndulla for her immodest attire, implying a desire to see more of her body. He also referred to the young Twi'lek as his "property." Although he offered to share his food with her, his manner of eating was so repulsive that Syndulla excused herself, claiming to have lost her appetite.
While Azmorigan possessed limited combat skills and was exceedingly lazy, he managed to take Garazeb Orrelios hostage on one occasion using a RK-3 blaster. However, he typically delegated most of the fighting to his henchmen. Due to his weight, Azmorigan struggled with walking and engaging in prolonged physical exertion. Nevertheless, he demonstrated a willingness to endure hardship in pursuit of financial gain. Azmorigan also possessed a high-pitched singing voice. Despite his reputation for cowardice, he fearlessly confronted an Imperial sentry droid single-handedly using Bridger's blaster. Destroying the droid instilled in Azmorigan a sense of accomplishment, leading him to believe he was a "hero."
Azmorigan was motivated by profit, engaging in a dispute with Hondo over his share of stolen treasure from an Imperial cargo ship. Despite his previous antagonistic encounters with the Spectres, he willingly collaborated with them to acquire treasure for himself.

Azmorigan made his debut as a minor antagonist in the Disney XD animated television series Star Wars Rebels. James Hong provided his voice in "Idiot's Array," the tenth episode of the series' first season. Hong later reprised his role as Azmorigan in "Brothers of the Broken Horn," the fourth episode of the series' second season. Azmorigan's design drew inspiration from early concept art for Jabba the Hutt, developed during the pre-production phase of the 1983 film Star Wars: Episode VI Return of the Jedi, the concluding installment of the Star Wars original trilogy.
