Xodlak'ji'iprip

title: Xodlak'ji'iprip

Xodlak'ji'iprip, also known by her core name Lakjiip, was a Chiss female belonging to the Xodlak family. She held the position of Senior Aide for Councilor Xodlak'uvi'vil on the planet Celwis. Both she and Lakuviv became entangled in the scheme orchestrated by Haplif of Agbui, which aimed to plunge the Chiss Ascendancy into internal conflict.

Biography

Lakjiip was in attendance during a meeting involving Haplif, a member of the Agbui, and Xodlak Councilor Xodlak'uvi'vil (Lakuviv). Haplif, presenting himself as a cultural nomad, requested a small piece of land to cultivate his spices. He presented Lakuviv with a sample of the spices and a pair of metal brooches. Lakuviv then instructed Lakjiip to send both items to Vlidan Labs for analysis, while also locating a suitable plot of land for the Agbui's use. This land was under the ownership of Xodlak yubal rancher, Xodlak'phr'ooa (Lakphro). Lakjiip journeyed to the rancher's property to inform him about the arrangement.

Several weeks later, Lakjiip discovered that certain strands within the brooches were composed of pure nyix metal, recognized as the rarest metal within the Chaos. Lakuviv was promptly notified, and Lakjiip revealed that the Agbui intended to sell these brooches to the Chiss at a price a thousand times lower than their actual value. Lakuviv instructed her to prevent any attempts to sell the brooches and to invite Haplif for a discussion. A week later, another Agbui vessel arrived at Celwis. Lakjiip contacted Haplif, who suggested that the ship was likely transporting excess spices and delivering additional metal for jewelry production. Lakjiip requested Haplif to come to Redhill to engage in discussions with both the newly arrived Agbui and Lakuviv, and Lakphro offered to transport him. Upon reaching Redhill, Lakphro confidentially disclosed to Lakjiip that Haplif had gifted his wife, Lakansu, a brooch. Surprised by this revelation, Lakjiip immediately confiscated the brooch. She instructed Lakphro to maintain secrecy regarding the brooches, emphasizing the matter's critical importance to the Xodlak's security. She also inquired whether Haplif had provided him with any additional brooches, to which Lakphro gave a negative response. However, this was untrue, as Haplif had also given his daughter, Lakris, a brooch.

Subsequently, Haplif privately informed Lakuviv about the world from which the metals used in the nyix jewelry were mined. Lakuviv, desiring to claim the world for the Xodlak, inquired whether Haplif could provide the Agbui with an escort ship for their upcoming expedition to the mining world, to which Haplif agreed. Lakuviv, eager to gather as much information as possible about the world, dispatched Lakjiip to accompany this escort mission. Upon arriving at the world, Lakjiip inquired of the Chiss navigator, Qilori, who had been provided by Haplif, whether she had heard the Agbui refer to the world as Hoxim. Qilori confirmed the name, and Lakjiip proceeded to question him extensively about the world and his involvement with the Agbui. Eventually, Lakjiip requested Qilori to accompany her on a tour of the mining facilities. Upon reaching the surface of Hoxim, Lakjiip analyzed the planet's soil and determined that it was excessively acidic for Chiss plants. Upon attempting to enter the mining facilities, an Agbui intervened, citing significant safety hazards for outsiders. However, he permitted her to observe through the facilities' windows, and Lakjiip and Qilori spent the remainder of the day on the planet. The Chiss departed back to the Ascendancy the following morning.

Upon returning to Celwis, Lakjiip apprised Lakuviv of her findings at Hoxim. Lakuviv proceeded with his plans to claim Hoxim for the Xodlak family. He successfully impersonated Celwis Xodlak Patriel Xodlak'oo'nifis (Lakooni) and initiated a Xodlak family emergency. He accomplished this by taking Lakooni hostage. This emergency summons mandated that all active-duty Xodlak Defense Force and Expansionary Defense Fleet personnel report to Celwis.

When Senior Captain Xodlak'in'daro (Lakinda) arrived at Celwis, Lakjiip was surprised that someone of her rank would respond. She then appointed Lakinda as the commander of the Midsummer and the leader of the Xodlak operation to seize the nyix mine at Hoxim. When Lakinda inquired about the nature of the operation, Lakjiip, recognizing the commander's need to know, informed her about the Agbui and the unclaimed nyix mine. Lakjiip relayed the Xodlak's intentions to relinquish the mine to the Syndicure upon its capture, emphasizing that the family only sought the prestige and recognition of discovering and acquiring it. She further stated that it would only be fair if the Xodlak family was reinstated to Ruling Family status.

However, the information presented by the Agbui was entirely fabricated. In reality, their objective was to undermine the Chiss and instigate a civil war among them. Concurrently with the Xodlak's summoning of a family emergency to seize Hoxim and its nyix mines, the Erighal and Pommrio families were mobilizing their forces for the same purpose. The nyix mine was nonexistent, and the Agbui had acquired the nyix from a world, Sunrise, that they had devastated through another engineered civil war. However, Senior Captain Mitth'raw'nuruodo (Thrawn) and Mid Captain Csap'ro'strob (Apros) uncovered the Agbui's plot and successfully averted conflict between the three manipulated Chiss families. Following the unsuccessful attempt to seize Hoxim, Lakooni eventually escaped from her captivity and imposed some form of disciplinary action against Lakuviv and Lakjiip.
