Zeltros, a celestial body located within the Inner Rim region of the galaxy, was characterized by its oceans and beaches adorned with tropical trees. A reference to a festival celebrated on Zeltros was made by Sylvestri Yarrow in 231 BBY.
Following a massacre that occurred on the Sorca Retreat, Doctor Chelli Aphra, a renegade archaeologist, sought refuge on Zeltros to escape her recent troublesome experiences. While unwinding on a beach and being served a Dantooine ice-twist by a service droid, she was accosted by Tukan, who had been pursuing her due to her involvement in the death of one of his associates, Dukan. In defiance of his attempt to apprehend her, Aphra discharged a concealed blaster at him. This action provoked Tukan's companions, who then brandished their own blasters at her.
The initial mention of Zeltros occurred in the Star Wars roleplaying game titled Star Wars: The Force Awakens Beginner Game, which was released by Fantasy Flight Games in August of 2016. Its first appearance in canon was in the comic Doctor Aphra (2016) 13, with writing by Kieron Gillen and illustrations by Kev Walker. This comic was made available on October 11 of 2017. The planet was initially referenced in the Star Wars Legends comic Star Wars (1977) 73, crafted by Mary Jo Duffy and published on March 22 of 1983.
